Magical location with absolutely stunning views of the lake and lovely gardens. The rooms we stayed in were spacious, clean and comfortable. The best thing about the place is the friendly and extremely helpful staff who all went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We ate in the restaurant which was also absolutely delicious. Wish we had more time to spend there.

There was nothing we dint like about the property. We have previously stayed there back in 2018 and loved our stay and therefore decided to visit again.

The property is charming, pretty and has a lovely view. The rooms are cozy and nice too.

It’s a little dated, apart from that.

We’ve been before, this was our second visit for previous birthdays. The property is a little dated, but in a wonderful location. The rooms are spacious with wonderful views over seeing the lake.

Room was at the very top of a steep and narrow staircase, no elevator as it’s a period property . The property itself is on a steep incline and not close to local restaurants, we did trek down to the lake but not an option if you want to shop and eat at local restaurants …need transport to go to Keswick , in-house dinner options were not to our taste and on the higher cost side

Ample parking space in front, scenic setting , lake Windermere view from the room, spacious room with all the usual amenities, comfortable bed , good breakfast, owner personally involved in running the hotel, pleasing personality and very good customer service

The two young staff who were working hard both need more training so they can look after the both the task aspects and the relationship aspects of customer care.

This is a beautiful house with outstanding views. Breakfast was gorgeous.

There was nothing that stood out as a problem

Liked our the view was spectacular. The bathroom was well equipped with plenty of hot water. The dining room had a lovely atmosphere and staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel was very calm.

Greeted and welcomed by a friendly lady on arrival. She showed us where everything was (restaurant, dining areas, bar) and gave all the information required. Took us up to our wonderful room overlooking the lake and made sure we were happy with everything. All the staff were extremely polite and helpful. No hesitation recommending this hotel.

The rooms are getting ready for a touch up as they are a little tired in places. but if you can bypass this the location and hotel is amazing.

the dog friendly rooms and then also the great views whilst having breakfast or dinner your made to feel very welcome. being able to have dinner dog friendly is even better very accommodating.

I feel we were satisfied with everything really. They were so obliging, helpful and very friendly with everyone.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Holbeck Ghyll staying in such wonderful surroundings with wonderful accommodation. It was my wife’s special birthday celebration & on arrival at the hotel we were told that we had been upgraded to our own suite which was beyond our expectations. It enhanced our stay there and was a lovely sanctuary to return back to after a lovely tour around the Lakes. The staff were so friendly y and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble to the staff. The breakfasts were lovely too and so tasty and there was plenty of variety for you to choose from, well cooked and nicely served. Thank you Holbeck Ghyll for making our stay a very special one and we hope to see you again in the future.

Better vegetarian options on the dinner menu

No lift in building and our room was on top floor, not really an issue for us but could have been for less able bodies

Staff and owner were very attentive, referred to us by our names and couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay even asking what drinks shall I have ready for you when you come down to the bar before dinner, awesome! Our room was really big with wonderful views and the furnishings throughout the hotel were lovely.
