I honestly can't think of anything, we thoroughly enjoyed stay

We loved everything about the hotel! Was a fantastic weekend away, the food was absolutely outstanding.... would highly recommended the chicken and steak. The Holbeck Ghyll country house hotel is lovely, the views from my room were like a postcard and the staff were fantastic especially Dan, Sarah,Rowan and Tom nothing was an effort, always attentive and aways had a smile. We would highly recommend will definitely be returning. Keep up the fantastic work guys

The lady who checked us in was very professional and attentive, but overall the energy of the property was a little odd. It felt like a place that some people return to again and again (understandably, particularly for its location away from the bustling tourist spots) but if you are visiting for the first time and from far away perhaps you don't get quite the same warm welcome. Staff were professional on the surface, but we didn't feel it was all genuine honestly.

The house itself is stunning, and we mainly chose this property for the lake views, which did not disappoint. Room was also spotless, bathroom was dated but fine for one night. Overall, the property is a little old fashioned but there is a lot of charm in that, particularly the arm chairs by the fire which we sat in for a drink after we'd been out for dinner.

A small degree of "tiredness" about aspects of the property but nothing to spoil the visit and we understand a programme of improvements is ongoing.

Emma breakfast waitress very friendly and efficient as were all the staff we encountered. Excellent view of the lake easy convenient parking. Convenient for local attractions.

Nice building and rooms, rooms are big and spacious. Good heating is provided in both the bedroom and bathroom. A very good breakfast was provided and the portion was big. The surroundings of the hotel and the views are very beautiful, very quiet at night. The manager Tom is very good and helpful. Highly recommend this guest house which is totally different from other hotels.

Talk about a room with a view that could make even the clouds jealous :) Staff here are excellentos!They pulled off an early morning feast accepting our request that left us feeling like royalty. Highly recommend this hotel for their stellar service!

Breakfast was fabulous as was the dinner we had there. The views from the room were beautiful and we enjoyed our stay there immensely. My only negative is our room really needed maitenance. The carpet needed shampooing; the curtain linings needed to be replaced and some painting needed to be done but it did not really detract from the lovely staff and the overall stay
