Just had a great weekend at crowne plaza in Sheffield meeting up with family members to go to a wedding nearby. We were originally booked in the next door holiday inn express but moved across due to current refurbishment work at hie. Certainly glad we were moved as we couldn't have had a better stay. The original listed building is full of original features and has recently undergone a sympathetic renovation while our rooms were spacious, modern and comfortable. The aspect we were most impressed with was the lovely staff who were all so friendly and helpful with a real focus on giving excellent customer service. This started even before our stay as on being advised of the change of hotel I had a productive exchange of messages with reception to check that one of the booked rooms which we needed to be wheelchair accessible would meet the needs of my sister in law who uses a wheelchair. All the staff we met were great but special thanks to Achille who organised us a table in the restaurant for a quiet family get together meal, Tomas who sorted an issue in the accessible room and was especially helpful at breakfast and Purna who looked after us at breakfast each morning. The hotel would definitely be our first choice when visiting Sheffield.

We didn't stay in the Holiday Inn Express, our booking was moved to the Royal Victoria Crowne Plaza and it was superb especially the staff who were excellent.

We were moved next door to sister hotel The crowne plaza which i presume was an upgrade. The crowne plaza is a lovely hotel in a fantasdtic location for the city centre. everything was top class including breakfast and especially the staff. Room was really nice and beds very comfy.

The doors needed a good slam to get them to lock properly.

Breakfast was delicious. We were upgraded and given free drinks vouchers when our room had to be changed at short noticed due to a broken shower. Staff couldn't be more helpful.

No fault of the hotel but there was a noisy room nearby with a person/people banging on doors trying to get into someone's room at about 3am. As we were up early for a sporting event that wasn't ideal.

Lovely hotel. I felt we ended up with a great deal as our booking was with the holiday inn but, due to closure (I think) we were transferred to the Crown Plaza.

The bed was way to hard and them room size was a little on the small size.

Draughty in room, radiator not working but when mentioned the receptionist altered it for us . Having returned from our concert we couldn’t get back in our room. I went to reception where no one was there so rang the numbers as instructed but was automated line. Went to the bar where the barman who was busy with two customers attended to my problem.

We actually stayed in the sister hotel ( The Royal Victoria Crowne Plaza ) as IHG own both and the Holiday Inn Express was closed ?? COVID related. This was an upgrade but we would pay the extra and stay here again. Room was spacious with good views over the city and facilities of a high standard and clean. We had breakfast included which was buffet style, plentiful and wide ranging from continental to full English. Staff were extremely friendly, cheerful and pleasant.
