Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing. Perhaps the bathrooms are a little tired but certainly nothing that would stop us from booking here again.
The staff are fantastic, very welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. We didn't eat in the restaurant but when we returned after our evening out, we went to lounge/bar area and had a drink and a pudding which was very nice and, again, the staff were lovely. It is in a fantastic location overlooking the marina and close to the restaurants and bars. Comfortable beds and very quiet. The road diversions are clear to follow and make it easy to find. Excellent car parking. The hotel had lots of photos on walls of Hull and I always love when there are photos of the actual location you are in rather than generic photos of somewhere unconnected.

United KingdomNo water in the room and to buy a 750cl bottle at the bar was £5.75 - a very big mark-up even against supermarket prices of £1.50. Shocking price! It really should be available in rooms.

United KingdomThe cost of the wine at the bar was far too excessive The bar area is virtually empty at all times, this is due to the costings of drinks etc if you brought the costings down appropriately you woukd have the bar area full and your returns would be significantly better 😉
Overall everything was very good

United KingdomTrying to charge guests £10 per day to park in the hotel car park!! It should be free. It was not made clear on Booking.com that it was not free. We had a twin room - two single beds, the duvets were ridiculously small (and quite thin). There were no extra bed covers in the room, in case people weren't warm enough. The duvets were inside double duvet covers, bizarre. The bathroom extractor fan didn't work. Because of roadworks it was awkward to drive to the hotel. Security - the door on the marina side was always open - anyone could walk in and make their way up to the rooms.
No noise at all from the A63 and roadworks outside our window - brilliant! But occasional noise from the corridor and adjacent rooms/doors slamming, early in the mornings. But you often get that in hotels. The room had proper, really effective, black out curtains! Breakfast was extensive and good, except for first morning, when the scrambled eggs and mushrooms tasted like they'd been kept warm - a bit dry and tough, not freshly cooked. There was no hot cooked food out on display that morning, but was all available to order from staff. The full cooked breakfast was all out on display (self service) on the other mornings. The staff - all exemplary - friendly, helpful and efficient. The view across the marinas from the restaurant/breakfast room. The location - interesting, historical. Some good eateries nearby in the fruit market area.

United KingdomI always feel that parking should be free to a hotel paying guest so that didn't feel ideal but I knew before I went so had budgeted for it. The location made up for the extra cost.
The location is perfect for the arena and city centre, lovely staff and lots of parking available (for a fee)

This is a really great hotel and provides real value for money. We found it to be very clean, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, the breakfast is excellent quality and the bar lounge room is very comfortable and clean. The hotel location offers very pleasant short walks around the marina and estuary and is just a 5 minute from the city centre. The hotel also has an outside area for coffee with soft seating overlooking the marina.

United KingdomAir conditioning in bedroom was too hot. Bathroom due refurbishment - taps and shower control difficult to move, bathroom door did not stay shut without locking (room 109). Inevitable access difficulty due to A63 road works - you just have to ensure you follow the diversion as it may be different from last time you followed the diversion. Road works could not be heard.
Plenty of car park space. Lovely view of the marina. Good staff.
