Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChinaThe building is a bit of a maze, but quite normal for UK building of that age. Not super easy to move with a luggage up and down across various staircases.

Hong KongRoom selection seems a little random, we've had a some lovely rooms and others more ordinary. Sometimes it would be nice to know how we can do more for special stays e.g. arrange flowers in room, rooms with better views etc. I found the gym felt a little off limits; having an access fob rather than being escorted to the room would be better.
Solid reliable quality in both accommodation and food. Nicely decorated and spotless. Set within the old quarter and close to the cathedral which we like

United KingdomMy stay at the Hope Street Hotel exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, I was impressed by its charm and elegance, especially considering the value for money. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the spa, where I indulged in relaxation and rejuvenation. Being surrounded by quaint cafes added to the delightful experience, and the short walk to the breathtaking cathedral made exploring the area even more enjoyable. Additionally, the proximity to the shopping center was convenient for any last-minute needs. However, what truly made my stay memorable was the exceptional staff who went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my trip and would highly recommend the Hope Street Hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious yet affordable getaway."

United KingdomRoom TV functions seemed a bit dated for a high end hotel. Bathroom was ok, lights did randomly dim at times and the door looked waterlogged as the shower leaks all over it. The spa is very expensive for what it is, there were many things that needed fixing or were starting to look very well used, definitely wouldn’t pay to go in the spa again, especially as a guest. The bed in breakfast was average, concentrated orange juice and low fat yoghurt put it down 3 points instantly and it all seemed a bit kept in the heat too long, but it was reasonably ok. Pastries did not taste too fresh either.
Always like being nearer the Philharmonic side of the city, good location. Well presented and clean space inside, nice room with comfortable bed. The joining Italian restaurant did a tasty dinner.

United KingdomVery small things but unexpected after staying at this hotel several times. Drinks marks on our bedside table. Also the ketchup bottles had horrible dried ketchup rings in the lid which came adfrift when using - yuk! These seem petty I know, but it’s attention to detail that’s missing this time.
Location was perfect for the Philharmonic Hall. Breakfast was lovely. The bar area after the show was great and as usual we shared with the performers who also stayed there. Staff lovely.
