Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Rooms was a little bit outdated and stairs to downstairs doesn’t warn you their a drop as soon as you open the door. Breakfast wasn’t to our standard we didn’t get asked what we wanted on our cooked breakfast my friend and me both don’t like egg but both presented with it, if asked we would have told them to remove it. We stayed 2 nights so second morning we went out for breakfast.
This hotel is brilliant for location 5 mins walk to Paddington and 10 min walk to Oxford street made traveling in a new city very easy and no need for a tube if your happy to walk

I have a mouse in my room and nobody do any things !!!!!!
The Room size is acceptable, General cleaning on sheets and towel are acceptable, but the floor is not clean. We Had a mouse in room and when I told them at night, they, told me they don't have any other room for us and because it`s too late they don't have a solution. The day after they dent say any things when we do the check out but it was a night mare to stay in room with a mouse!!!!!

Nice hotel located on a quiet street a few blocks from Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Great breakfasts.

The decor is quite dated, but realistically that’s not what we booked the room for!
Location was perfect and really easy to find. Rooms were clean and well presented and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were attentive and lovely and great assets to the establishment. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is delightful and fantastic. We spent a week here and our hotel stay was perfect. From the clean comfortable room to the great and wonderful staff in the reception and dining room. A better hotel staff you cannot find. The location is right by Paddington station which allows you to get to all points of interest in London. This hotel is highly recommended.

Was lower ground room didn't see anything out the window kitchen was next to our room so when breakfast was been prepared you heard everything. Not very good when you would like a little lie in and breakfast is served 7-9am also there was a big crack right down the window so price for the room was expensive in my opinion ⁸

It was awful room looked nothing like the pictures and was so dirty and small ! No iron or ironing board in the room either no tv stations worked !For the price i paid i expected alot better than what i got , would not recommend staying here!

There was mould in the shower. Breakfast service was poor. The walls in our bedroom had marks all over them and one spot looked like it had been sanded down but not repainted. Also there was no choice in whether we wanted our room cleaned, therefore housekeeping came in when we had preferred not to.
Very good location. Very friendly staff. Comfy beds.

Dodgy shower controls. On two mornings we could not get a shower. Breakfast was a *limited* buffet with an uninspiring cooked English breakfast served by overworked staff in a cramped breakfast room. The bacon was microwaved, the eggs were persistently over-cooked, and toast choices were white or white. The advertised description is misleading. They call themselves an hotel, and claim a 4 star rating. The 4 stars are actually a B&B rating from the Automobile Association and has absolutely nothing to do with international *hotel* rating standards.

The room and the view were both superb! The little garden was incredibly cozy and the staff was not only very friendly and accommodating but also extremely helpful and effective. The breakfast was great, would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London.
