Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandService of food, attitude from the manager in relation to them not being prepared was not really acceptable. As the reception staff had almost all 60 rooms ready when we arrived.
The rooms were spacious and very clean and comfortable. We did not eat breakfast. Service in the hotel bar for food was disappointing as we were part of a part of over 100 people and when we ordered food were just told that they were not prepared and that we just had to wait and it would be about 40 minutes for a sandwich. Other than that we had a great time at Hogs back

United KingdomI stay here once a month, for business, so very happy with location, breakfast and general facilities of the hotel. Would recommend for anyone looking for a clean functional hotel that has good accessibility to many local attractions, including London, Guildford and Portsmouth

United KingdomSwimming pool was slightly on the small side. Steam room was nice, but the seats were a bit sharp on the edges. Jacuzzi was quite a steep step to get in to it, you should have a step up to it as I watched an elderly gentleman struggling to get in it. Please look at this and the disabled access to the pool area. Overall it was ok. Breakfast was nice, but had to wait for quite a while for bacon, sausages, hash browns and eggs to be topped up.
I liked a lot about this hotel, from arriving in the spacious car park, speaking to the friendly receptionist, walking in to the clean and tidy room. Location was only 50 minute drive from my home.

United KingdomQuite possibly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Pastries tasted stale, eggs congealed, undercooked bacon and hard rubbery sausages. Would be better nipping to the nearest garage and getting something there.

United KingdomWe didnt like the short abrubt attitude of the reception staff on arrival and was then given the wrong room then when asked for the room we had booked it frustrated the cocky sarcastic staff member but then we did end up with our double room, however as it got colder in the evening the radiator in the room did not work at all this was a shame as the place was nice and the bed was very comfy so felt let down on what could have been an enjoyable stay.
We liked the grounds and facilities.

United KingdomQuite noisy at night by a main road, for the price I feel we should have had breakfast included as it was quite expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed in the past.
The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for two nights and staff were lovely and helpful with any questions we had.

United KingdomHaving stayed a number of times for work, I've gotten used to "NO" room services - clean towels, making the bed, replacing coffee/tea etc.
For traveling to Guildford, for work, great location. It's a comfortable hotel, good breakfast options and a gym/pool for a little exercise

United KingdomRooms are a mixed bag, I was lucky with mine as it was huge with a bath and big windows, also it wasn't too hot. My friend's room was boiling hot and a bit tired, no bedside lamps either which was odd. The beds are sadly very hard and the pillows are terrible, this was the worst part as it's all about getting a good sleep. Food in the restaurant is average and pricey, but ok. It was a good choice for the wedding, but definitely room for some improvement.
Emily gets 5 stars, she is a superstar who went the extra mile to make sure my lovely friends' wedding was a success. She is truly an asset to the hotel. The hotel looks nice, but make sure you get a room at the back if you don't cope with road noise as it's on a main road. It's technically well-located due to the road, but not the quiet setting you might hope for. The view out of the garden is lovely though. Food at the wedding was nice apart from the desserts which was inedibly sickly. All the staff we encountered went out of their way to be helpful and courteous.
