Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBreakfast wasn’t great, lukewarm and not a great choice. Bedroom was a bit tired, decor was worn and we had cobwebs in the corner of the room.
Staff were fantastic, evening meal was good - special mention from my wife for the belly pork!! And the bed was amazingly comfortable.

United KingdomThe decor was a little tired, the wooden furniture was very worn and the shower didn't work, no hot water, yet the water to the taps was steaming hot. The place just needs some basic TLC.
Perfectly located, 3 miles out of York. Just down the road from the main park and ride which we used. Really easy and good value to get into the town centre with no hassle. The room we had was huge, well laid out with a very large TV. The superking bed was very comfortable. We didn't have an evening meal, ate in town, but the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Staff were very good, efficient and polite.

United KingdomMore organisation, more bar staff.
Four of us checked in which wasn't too well organised. It took some time sorting out.Prior to our arrival I had requested a lift accessible room and 3 pillows each on our bed.I received an email stating my request would be honoured in time for our arrival to the hotel, however, none of these things were carried out. THANK YOU USH! I think you need to assess your reply to my request. We were shown to our rooms in the old part of the hotel, upstairs with no lift access, not good for both me and my brother in law who have breathing issues,we were given another room on the ground floor.Their room was ok,ours had a broken toilet seat. So,back down to reception it was,my husband and I were allocated another room on the first floor which was accessed by a lift,it was the last but one room which was the furthest room away from the lift!A little tip to those with mobility issues..request a lift accessible room…whether you would get one though is another thing! We were given a voucher for a free drink in the bar, it was a nice gesture from Aman the duty manager but we were very limited as to what we could have. My husband ordered a becks blue which wasn’t one of the drinks on the list! We asked about a table for our evening meal only to be told we couldn’t book a table in the restaurant until after 8pm as there was a large party of 27 already booked in,but meals were also served in the bar area.We all ordered our meals at the same time. Two meals came out together followed by the other two which came out 45 minutes later,so not the meal we had planned on eating “together!”On check out when we asked for our bills,we noticed that a service charge had been added to our bill, isn’t a service charge supposed to be given for good service?Breakfast on our first morning was perfect in every way, however on the second and final morning everything was wrong. No plates, empty yogurt bowl, very low amounts of hot food,no baked goods,no bread,no butter!

United KingdomAccommodation was a bit cold despite heating on. The shower was hard to turn on and off, which caused a minor flood to bathroom. The room was tired looking and dated. Hotel could definitely do with modernisation of rooms.
Amazing staff. Quiet accommodation. Clean. Lovely breakfast with hot n cold buffet. Park n Ride to town was 5 minutes away and cheap for the day. All tourist attractions are central in one place.

United KingdomWe had a cold shower on the Saturday. This was apparently due to the fact the hotel had 80 guests all using the water at the same time. It is on the ‘maintenance list’, but to be honest I doubt much can be done about it if the current system is incapable of supplying hot water now. That would entail a massive project and cost to get additional water heaters installed. Maybe they should invest in solar panels to help heat the water. The manager on reception was very attentive to this issue which is refreshing. The only other issue we had was the volume on the tv. We decided to watch a pre recorded film which are always low in sound. The tv didn’t go up beyond 30 (maximum was 100), so we couldn’t hear the film very well. It when the adverts came on, we were turning the volume down as it was then too loud.
Breakfast options were plentiful. They will even make you porridge if you ask. It was nice to be treated like a paying guest by the staff. Even the youngsters had their wits about them and were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable.

AustraliaI booked knowing that we both need a lift if our room was on the upper floors. Unfortunately our room was on the 4th floor with no lift. 2 lovely male staff helped us with our cases but we still needed to walk up and down all the stairs with our bags and backpacks. Did not make the climb pleasant at all for our knees.
