Staff at breakfast were a little inattentive, especially as there didn’t seem to be many guests, we had asked for some more tea and coffee but it was completely forgotten about and we had to go find staff to chase the tea up.

Hotel was comfortable and clean, delicious breakfast, and being sat in the conservatory, overlooking the ground added to the atmosphere.

It was hard to find staff when we had an issue with our door card waited at the desk for 5 minutes so had to leave a note also on check out no staff about after a wait just left key on desk. I don't think this is still a 4 star Hotel I would rate it 3 star as was stains on curtains rust from a leaking radiator pipe marks all down the walls. I think you could tell it had been empty a little while and was just back up and running it definitely has the potential to be 4 star and will definitely stay again.

Hotel was in a great location and the staff were very friendly. The grounds were very well presented. Food was great.

The location is very secluded but the hotel is a little piecemeal in its layout for me and needs a little upgrade in the rooms.

Room 408 - Room wasn’t cleaned properly, dirty toilet, dirty around the sink, rubbish from previous visitor left in the room. The breakfast if purchased after booking is expensive. Room 411 - If you have a booking in the event rooms, you shouldn’t put guests in rooms above as it’s too noisy.

Arrived late (around 10/11pm) as we were using the hotel for a stopover only. 1 staff member was working, they didn't look up on arrival, sat at the check in desk wearing a non uniform hoodie with the hood up. Bit confusing and off putting after a long drive to arrive. They made a joke about robbing the place. In the morning (around 7:30am) the same staff member was working. They had the same outfit on, non uniform hoodie and had the hood up. Just very unprofessional in my opinion for an establishment that advertises itself as a hotel/spa. Would expect standard's for guests that pay for that spa experience.

Paid £10 upgrade for suite. Lots of space but room was extremely dated. Would have expected robes in a suite. Also very sorry to say but didn't use the jacuzzi bath. There were hairs in the bathtub which put me off. I didn't raise it with the venue as out stay was a very quick one. Am sure if I had, they'd have addressed the cleanliness but overall think the room needed updating.

Poor service at dinner, lack of staff and long wait to be served. Felt drinks and food were overpriced and food lacking in taste. Decor in the main building was very old fashioned and required updating.
