Staff unattended upon arrival at reception despite notified to inform when we would arrive. They didn’t apologise or offer a complimentary drink for waiting around 15 mins. However they made up for this with wine glasses for my own bottle of wine and a late check out in the morning.

Nice stairs, beds, good location. Cafe staff were very friendly and helpful

The dining area facing the sea is wonderful for breakfast although I find the breakfast itself slightly disappointing. I had to ask for a milk alternative , no dairy free yoghurt. The small pastries had been over cooked & you could grow old waiting for the toaster

The room was a great size and this time the curtains were in good condition ( previous visits the blinds were falling off the windows). The room & bathroom were really clean & the shower had good water pressure. The bedroom laundry crisp & fresh. Tea & coffee facilities available. TV was in a good position and I enjoyed a good undisturbed sleep

Breakfast was substantial but parts of it under cooked and parts overcooked- it was also lukewarm. Plenty of it . Apart from the large group of people who took over the bar then came to the restaurant and proceeded to shout over everything and everyone with bad language which the manager came and dealt with asking them to keep the noise down and then we could hear arguments occurring just beneath out room at a later time.

Staff were excellent helpful quick to respond and very polite evening meal was very good

Breakfast very good, did not like having to go to hot water with tea cup and to get milk from container very congested with people getting toast and other items, for older people difficult if not mobile, have never ever had to this in any other hotel, waste container on table behind food tiny and unhygienic,

Very good staff, very clean, good food

Bit overpriced for what it was. We had no hot water to wash, which was tough being a single parent on a a short break with 2 children and not able to ring reception directly as no phones in the room to call for help.

The location, the free parking, the beeakfast

Our room on the ground floor was large enough for 4 people but only three cups in room and only 3 little tea bags and sugar sachets. The bathroom was tiny, just a shower no bath. Some of the finish is old and stained and paint cracking. I’m sure such a place takes a lot of maintenance but it needs more. In the restaurant the server handed our daughter (10 yrs) a dinner plate directly into her hands. It was hot and she cried. Server showed no concern whatsoever- which was upsetting. Her hands were red but didn’t blister so we didn’t complain but this was upsetting. Some of the outside areas are dirty and perhaps unused as yet- just chairs piled up. Would be nicer to look at if it was clean and tidy.

Location of the property is lovely right by the beach. We had stayed here before about 10 years ago so was looking forward to returning. It has had a lick of paint since then and the bar area/restaurant redone. I like the blue colour scheme.

It would have been nice to have a mirror with a light at the dressing table as I found the room quite dark . There was no coffee sachets in the room . There could have been a box of tissues in the room . A shaving/ magnifying mirror in the bathroom would of been good as I wear contact lenses and I struggled to get close to the mirror to remove my lenses and as I can’t see very well ,so it would of helped .

The location was excellent and the view of the sea was beautiful today ,as it was sunny . The bar area was nice although open plan to the dining area . There was a separate lounge area we could have used though . The breakfast was superb , really nice food , hot and the staff very helpful and friendly . The room was nice , quite warm though and the bed was comfortable although a little firm for myself .

Some of the back of house staff were loud and some of the front of house servers were over familiar.

I had deliberately booked a room without breakfast as I wasn’t sure on my morning plans. However, I decided to have the breakfast, I mentioned it wasn’t included when I sat down and gave my room number. Then I went for a walk and upon return, intending to shower and leave for a funeral, I couldn’t access my room. I had to go back down to reception who advised my room access had been blocked as I hadn’t paid for my breakfast. I found this an unbelievable way to behave towards guests, never have I stayed in any hotel when incidentals not included in the room are not charged upon check out. The implication being that I would leave without paying. Several points here 1. When I said breakfast wasn’t included in my room to the staff, I should have been advised of this unusual payment process 2. Locking me out of my room was an unnecessary and frankly quite aggressive way to behave towards a guest 3. Either make the process the same as every other hotel and take a credit card to cover any incidentals in the event anyone leaves without a proper checkout and payment or inform people of your unusual processes. I left feeling extremely offended and I doubt I will stay again. I have frequented the Kingscliff all of my life in all of its guises but this behaviour from staff and hotel process was quite beyond what I find acceptable.

Accommodating on check in after a long journey Lovely large room Reasonable breakfast

Food and drink was expensive and the menu in the restaurant was limited. A couple of the waitresses from the restaurant were eating bowls of food and messing about behind the bar with the male customers, not very professional!! Also one or two of the waitresses at breakfast time had a bit of an attitude and we had to ask for more orange juice several times. They were more busy out the back laughing and playing about.
