Our room was at LG level, which was not to our preference. However besides some noises during the night, since we were just below the reception area, all went well.

The room was clean and with all the amenities needed. Breakfast was fresh and ladies who attended the breakfast were very attentive to keep the breakfast bar full and the tables clean.

My friend and daughter that travelled with me were not happy that there was no cooked breakfast as was shown on trip advisor so that is a bit misleading.

It wasn’t too far from the theatre we were visiting, room was clean and enough room for the 3 of us.

The bathroom was ridiculously small but with an oversized shower cubicle. I am very short, and my knees were under the sink when I sat on the toilet. I don't know how a tall man would have coped in this space. The room safe did not work and there were no instructions on how to use it. There is no wardrobe, only 3 wall hooks with hangers, so OK for one night but not for longer stays. There is very limited space for suitcases and no place to set up a laptop computer. I would not recommend this room for longer stays. I would have loved a full English breakfast, but cooked breakfasts were not available.

The room had everything I needed for a one night stay. It felt very safe for a single woman and the area in which it is located is well lit. It was convenient to the meeting I was attending at UCL. A breakfast was available. The room was clean. There were two power points near the bed, so great for recharging my phone and a second device at the same time.

There is no lift and I was on the top floor which is tough with heavy bags. The breakfast was minimal. There was a massive water stain on the wall in my room. The shower was scalding hot. No matter how much I tried, I could not turn the temp down.

Location good for the theatres. Room was clean. Liked the fact there was a fan provided. Quiet overnight.

The room we stayed in was on the ground floor and when we checked into the room there was a slight smell however wasn’t too bad but then when we returned at night about 10 the smell was very bad and smelt like drains. We didn’t notify anyone at this point as it was late and I had my young daughter with me and I didn’t expect there to be any other rooms to move into. I did tell the person on reception when checking out and no apology was offered which was disappointing instead they just went ok I will check it. This did impact our stay and experience. I have stayed at the hotel before and had no issues which is why o returned but I’m not sure I would again after this experience which is frustrating.

Not really a criticism but a note for other guests: if you don't like room deodoriser, be careful where you sit in the breakfast room :-) I sat in front of an automated squirting device without realising and wondered where the smell was coming from. If you expect hotel rooms to be massive or if you require a lift (elevator), this isn't for you.

Great location for the price. I had all I wanted: a small quiet room, own bathroom and breakfast, in Bloomsbury. A mix of international travellers, families and couples as well as single travellers. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is about as cheap as you can go without a shared bathroom or bunk beds (the horror!), and believe me, I've done the research.
