Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept in for years. The food was average too, with the beef and vegetables served slightly warm and very fatty.
The location, the hotel and the staff were great.

United KingdomThe breakfast was ok but a bit pricey at £30 for two, you get a single sausage 1 bacon 1 egg spoon full of beans and a piece of black pudding you do get a continental but we only wanted the cooked breakfast just not much to it.
Great spa facilities not to far from a small town, and an Aldi across the road of you need any essentials.

United KingdomAn automated email offering a paid upgrade, which I accepted. The hotel then declined the offer by email, and the next day offered me a "name your price" upgrade, which I ignored. They missed out on extra income and added a level of confusion and irritability to the check-in process. I checked in online but still had to wait at the check-in desk.
Fantastic area. Great location in stunning countryside, not far from an amazing farm shop and cafe. Big car park right outside the door and good food in the bar.

United KingdomOur room was nothing special, but perfectly fine for what we paid: Clean and comfortable if not particularly memorable.
Lovely stay, and the spa is incredible even though its small. The staff were lovely, parking was great, and it's a very short walk to the centre of Llangollen.

United KingdomThe windows for the room are pretty old so they’re only single pane which doesn’t keep out much outside noise and one window was difficult to close properly. The walls could feel a bit thin when hearing the room next door snoring in the night as well but overall the room was really nice and really big duvets which was great.
It was a really beautiful place. They have lovely outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the flowers and the landscape and the views around you. They staff were very friendly and they have an onsite bar and restaurant although we didn’t try any of the food.

United KingdomWe couldn’t access the spa facilities and you had to pay extra to access the pool area which when you pay a lot of money to stay here, should be part of the package.
Lovely room that was very spacious and clean with a great bathroom. Staff in the bar and restaurant were really helpful and chatty and a 5 minute walk into the centre of town. Loads of space in the car park.

United KingdomYou have to ask for your room to be made up and towels replaced, etc, daily before 10 am. We asked for tea and milk supplies one day and a room makeup another day, but neither request took place, and we had to ask for clean towels and supplies at reception. The hotel is looking a bit tired and could use a refresh, nothing major, but it's a bit scruffy in places. You had to pay to use the spar not too much, about £12.50 pp for 1 hour, but it isn't a large venue 1 small sauna and steam room, about 5 beds to relax and small pool area made up of jacuzzi and jets. There is not enough space to swim. The restaurant food was good, but we were forgotten about a couple of times. They offered dessert, but we never saw anyone again until we decided to leave and pay. There is a standard service charge added every night, which was not explained to us on any of the nights we visited the restaurant. Although we were happy to pay a tip, this should be explained, especially for those on a tight budget. It was a bit noisy in our room as we were by the internal fire door, which needed a soft close mechanism to make it quieter. The hotel also accomdates dogs, which is great, but I think the hotel should have designated rooms for pets allocated, maybe at the end of the corridors or on the ground floors where there is less noise for them and less worry and stress for their owners. There were 2 lovely dogs near us on the 1st floor but due to the noise from the internal door opening and closing and people talking in the corridor early in the morning (2am) they were both setting each other off, barking and howling at times during the night. Lastly, the toilet and the toilet roll holder in our room was about 3 feet away from each other, which was baffling and a bit awkward.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location with a 17-minute stroll into town walking alongside the river. Also, walking distance to home bargains and aldi if you have forgotten something. Parking was free, and the gardens looked good. The food was great in the restaurant, Sunday lunch was a set menu of 2 or 3 courses, plenty on the plate, but mine was a little cold. Looking at prices in the town, they were on par. We ate there every night. Overall, it was a good stay, but a few simple upgrades and changes, and it would have been great. I would stay again.
