Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing!
Everything was perfect for our stay. As we were arriving late in the evening from Inverness Airport, Michelle had left us cereals, bread and jam for breakfast for the next morning, much appreciated. Milk, tea and coffee were also provided and a lovely welcome hamper of tasty snacks. The house was spotless, cozy, warm and well equipped. Great that it had 2 shower rooms and a bathroom. It lacked nothing and we had a wonderful comfortable stay, thank you Michelle and Ronnie.

Ronnie & Mitchelle are fabulous hosts. They are very thoughtful and accommodating. The house is just the right distance from the city centre and is very good. The house was supremely clean and well maintained. All the amenities were available esp for the kids. We absolutely loved the place.

AustraliaWe had an amazing time staying at this home in Inverness. The location was absolutely perfect – close to everything we wanted to see and do. The house itself was cozy and warm, making it a great retreat after a day of exploring. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we all slept wonderfully. The property was well-equipped with everything we needed, from the kitchen to the living areas. It truly felt like a home away from home. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Michelle was incredible 🙏

United StatesI wish the upstairs bathroom had an enclosed shower instead of a tub with a spray nozzle, but we managed
Easy drive into town, taxis were able to locate the property, though I wish Inverness had Uber, but that may come later. Kitchen facilities were excellent. We felt the Co-Op was the best grocery option for us, better than Lidl and Aldi.

Excellent hosts, lovely clean property with attention paid to all the small details within the house. Ground floor room has a walk in shower which was essential for my grandmother. Location was fantastic, 15 minutes away from the town centre. If I was to visit again I would certainly stay here again.

United KingdomWe had a very comfortable stay at lindfields. Kids loved the outdoor space to run about and play. A well equipped kitchen and a decent sized living room made it very comfortable for 9 of us. It was a great location and found it easy to explore highlands. We went to Rogie Falls (25mins), a day trip to Wick and John o’groats, another day trip to explore the malt whisky trail.

The property was absolutely spotlessly clean. There was a welcome pack awaiting when we arrived. Everything you could ask for was there, all kitchen appliances, crockery, glasses etc. Underfloor heating. the location was great, not far from Inverness city, short taxi ride or bus at bottom of the road. Great outside facilities, seating, BBQ etc.

United KingdomNothing everything was great
The house was a very good size for a big family like ours. When we arrived, the house was spotless and we were even provided with milk, tea ,coffee and snacks. Everything you need was there such as an iron, hairdryer so on. The outside area was nice and even had a toybox for the kids. The beds were soft and 3 bathrooms all had washing facilities. It was just outside of town but had a bus stop at the bottom of the road and only £10 taxi from the city center. Ronnie and Michelle were quick when replying to any queries and also wrote a lovely booklet explaining everything you needed to know about the house and takeaways or excursions in the area. We couldn't have had a better time and you could tell the owners put alot of effort and thought into giving us a great stay at their home.

United KingdomWe loved Lindfields and can’t find fault so the only feedback we would give would be to perhaps consider another chair or two in the living room as the house sleeps 9 but the sofas seat 6.
After a long journey we walked into a warmly lit home with milk in the fridge and an ingenious welcome hamper. The whole place permeated love and care with comfy beds, board games and a fantastically informative manual incorporating everything, including lists of local take always that deliver! The purpose of our visit was to see my 80 year old dad’s childhood home in Kingussie, it was bittersweet and having somewhere like Lindfields to return to absolutely made our stay, thank you Michelle and Ronnie.

United KingdomHonestly, absolutely nothing. Everything about the house was just excellent.
The house was absolutely fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, and the hosts provided us with a welcome basket including some basic food items such as biscuits and chocolate, as well as milk etc. in the fridge. Toiletries were provided in the bathrooms, and there was a very useful binder provided including some hints & tips on what to do locally, information on local takeaways, and a load of other stuff as well. 2 keys were provided as well. Communication with the hosts was excellent, and they came across just as lovely people. The driveway had plenty of space for multiple cars - we had 4 parked there and still had room for more. The house is about a 25-30 minute walk from the city centre, but it is located up a hill so the walk back could be difficult. However, there is a bus stop just a couple of minutes walk away should you need it. The location itself was very quiet, and even though there are neighbours, the house did feel secluded and private. The beds were very comfortable, and the layout was perfect for us - a super-king bed on the ground floor with an ensuite bathroom; a double bed also on the ground floor; a king bed on the first floor; and a room with 3 single beds also on the first floor. There was a second bathroom on the ground floor with a walk-in shower, and a further bathroom on the first floor with a bathtub and a shower hose. All in all, absolutely fantastic - so much so that some of my friends are already talking about booking it again with family! Highly recommended.

IndiaRob and Michelle's house was a treat to stay in. We could not have been happier with our choice. The house was beautiful and well furnished. We loved spending time as a family in the living room with its large screen TV, piano and electric fireplace. Our hosts were also generous in leaving us a gift pack, with chips and chocolates. Basic cooking supplies were also provided, as was menus and contact numbers for nearby delivery places. Rob and Michelle also provided supplies for outdoor activities. We enjoyed playing badminton in the evenings. The place even had scooters and swings for kids. There are 3 bathrooms. The upstairs one has a nice bath in it as well. There was also a safe in one of the rooms. The location is pretty good, and if you go up the hill, there is a beautiful view of Inverness from the top. The only small issue is that there is no nearby department store. So you would need a car to run around and get groceries. The nearest place is 2 km away. As a further testament of their hospitality, they not only allowed us to keep our luggage there post check out, but also dropped it to the station for us. It was hands down our favourite place to stay at on our UK trip covering 15 days and 5 cities. If anyone is traveling to UK, would definitely recommend that they visit Inverness, and if they are going to Inverness, then this is the place to stay at. If we could, we would give it 6 out of 5 stars.

IndiaNothing at all - we loved everyone
Very well maintained with all amenities - perfect for 8 of us to have a comfortable stay and enjoy our golf rounds every day. Apart from the dwelling, Ronnie and Michelle were the most accommodating and helpful hosts. They went way beyond expectations, even to the extent of waiting at the property to collect our lost golf bags couriered from the airport. They even provided us a guitar ( Fender at that!) at short notice. We wish all hosts are like them - very professional with a personal touch.
