Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Water flow in the shower is bit slow. There is no car parking, but we could manage to get off-road parking. So not an issue

The Wifi completely stopped working one day, the fridge frequently turned off and then back on randomly.
The location was absolutely perfect, a 3 minute walk from the train station and grocery store, lots of food options nearby. The room itself was very clean and comfortable and perfect for our needs. The fridge was very nice to have, but was very touchy and would frequently shut off. Overall, it was a great experience.

The room was ok but everything was very tired, there was a hole in the lampshade, a woodlouse on the blind, bathroom door didn't close properly, drawer front broken. The radiator needed bleeding so the room was cold just a bit of a disappointment!
It was in a lovely location but there was no parking nearby.

Main light was a little bright, would benefit from having a dimmer switch in the bedroom.
Was clean, comfortable and warm. Shower was good good supply of towels. Had good supply of tea and coffee.

Like a lot of guest houses, it doesn't have a shared space where we can use.
Ruth is a great host! The room was clean, comfortable and even had a litle fridge which was very handy. The location is excelent.

Bed was quite squeaky and the shower was quite small. There was also a funny smell in the bathroom but wasn't much to worry about.

Bathroom needs a refurb, shower particularly- flow was very weak. Wider/bigger duvet would be a nice touch too, felt a little small for the size of the bed.
Location was great, tea/coffee facilities were good. Fire stick was welcome for the TV. Bed was comfy, lots of storage throughout the bedroom. Nice and quiet, minimal road noise/noise from other guests.

The only thing we could fault with our stay was the shower; understandably the rooms are small. However, the shower was very small and the water pressure was poor.
The property was in a great location, and the host Ruth was very accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and the self check in process was easy and efficient. The accommodation was great value for money.

When I booked with booking.com, I was under the impression that breakfast came with our booking but found out that this was incorrect when I arrived. Owner told us that Booking.com gave incorrect info.
The bed was comfortable and there was a tea kettle with a great selection of teas + hot chocolate. Shampoo and soap were provided. Owner upgraded our room to a bigger room once they saw how tall my husband was :)

The spot can be a wee bit noisy due to the bars around and about, and you're reliant on fellow guests not clatting about if they come in/leave late, because it's quite neat in terms of corridor space and the sound travels. Water pressure in shower a bit low, but these are pretty standard issues in the smaller guest houses. Overall it was what I was looking for.
Lingmoor is an ideal spot for someone coming up to hike on a weekend coming via train, or using public transport first thing in the morning as it is situated so near the bus and trains. Ruth the host was lovely, the room was spotlessly clean, and I felt extremely comfortable as a solo traveller. The key box access worked well for me.

The shower cubicle was small and the water pressure was not very powerful. The pillows could do with updating.

The shower was a bit small if you are a large person.

The water pressure was a little weak in the bathroom and we were unsure what to do with towels once we used them. A basket for used towels in the hall would have been good. Also, while they do provide milk satches, I had asked for oat milk as I am vegan and this unfortunately was not provided. However the stay was lovely overall.
The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, on suite bathroom was nice. The owners were kind enough to let us drop our bags in earlier than the check in time so we didn't have to carry our heavy bags with us all day. Also, complimentary teas and coffee. The location was also perfect, really close to the train station and visitors centre and a short walk or bus ride to lake windemere.

The noise from the other rooms are heard in our room.
The view from the room is very nice and it was very close to the train station, shops and restaurants. The customer service is very nice as it responded to my concern very quick.
