Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomFantastic location, so peaceful, overlooking the sea from the fields above. Nice short walk down to a wee cove below, and short drives to several nice places nearby.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing, I loved every minute of my stay.
Kay and Ian kept me updated with my booking, double checked my requirements and visited me on site to make sure I had everything I needed. The accommodation was lovely, very clean and comfortable with everything anyone could ask for. The location was amazing, very peaceful and the view was outstanding. The little provisions box was stocked everyday with delicious local produce, which of course I had to sample, daily 😂. The best bit for me was the enclosed field for dogs, it's so nice knowing that your dog can run off lead and be safe and secure without bothering the farm animals. I will definitely be booking again.

The location was perfect. The view was so peaceful and the sheep in the fields were adorable and enjoyed being petted. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. The luxury welcome pack was amazing and full of delicious treats The night sky was totally unspoilt so star gazing was unlike anything we’ve seen at home There was a guest folder that made lots of welcome suggestions and a magazine in the lodge with them as well so it was lovely to wake up and plan a day out based on the weather and all the suggestions as well as things we had in mind. There was a lovely short walk to a beach through the fields

United KingdomThis was our 2nd year here & we absolutely love it. We brought the family this time and had 3 lodges. We had a family emergency before we got here so had to do a bit of a change of occupancy in the lodges with dogs etc, Kay & Ian were very understanding. We got the welcome packs again & they did not disappoint!! We were lucky enough some surprise lambs had been born so got a hold. This place has amazing views & is very peaceful to switch off. Great base for going around Dumfries & Galloway. We will be back!

United KingdomBeing a permanent wheelchair user, the lodge access was a struggle at times, and for me the shower was inaccessible, and pull down rails at the toilet would have been perfect, but Ian and Kay and me had extensive discussions beforehand and Ian and Kay provided photographs and measurements so I knew exactly what to expect.
Nothing was too much trouble. We paid for the hamper and it was AMAZING. As a permanent wheelchair user, staying at the lodge was a challenge, but nothing that couldn't be overcome and Lay and Ian went above and beyond to help.

United KingdomDouble bed - should have realised when they said double that it would be too small for us.
Loved the view mostly. The lodge was just a static caravan though and the rooms were caravan size. Comfortable (apart from the double bed which as too small for us. Well equipped throughout. Lovely host, walk to Portpatrick was too far for me sadly.

RomaniaWe had such an amazing holiday! We loved everything about the accommodation, the farm, the location... view is spectacular, overseeing the Irish coast. The lodge is fully equipped, but shall you require anything extra, Kay & Ian are more than happy to help! They are the most welcoming hosts! (Thank you, again, Kay & Ian!❤️) We were lucky enough to visit during lambing season and got a chance to see the wee lambs and to feed them...so precious! A huuuge plus for the very hot water, it's one of the few accommodations ever (!!!) with such high water pressure and temperature, which is God given after day trips. The welcome basket was insane, with home-made biscuits and cupcakes. We got cheese, butter, fresh milk and farm eggs..and many, MANY more! Everything was just PERFECT!

United KingdomWow wow wow! Absolutely loved our stay from start to finish. Ian & Kay are everything you want as a farm stay host. Available to help, sending clear information upon booking and always available should you need them. The lambs are adorable and Kay was kind enough to show us around the lambing shed, and then again before we left so I could take some photos with my camera. The views out to sea are perfect, with their lovely sheep close by and Ireland in the distance. Location beautiful and can’t wait to go back again. Thanks for being so kind and accommodating to us.

United KingdomIt is a fantastic location with a clean lodge and exceptional hosts. It has one of the best internet connections I have ever experienced in a remote area and complete streaming services to keep the kids happy. There is a lot to do if you like long walks and outdoors. Portpatrick is just around the corner, and you can spend a lovely day walking the coastline and enjoying delicious meals and drinks in one of the restaurants. Parking is free, and everything around is clean and well-locked. This is the perfect spot for a family break, and we will definitely return. You can bring your dog and explore the area. We stayed for four days and had a lovely time. The Lodges are equipped if you like to cook, and shops are a 10-minute drive away. Also, there is a dedicated dog area where you can leave your dog to run free and have a little play. We loved it, and the kids had a wonderful time. If you want a relaxing break away from the busy city and don't mind long walks, this is the place to go.

United KingdomThe lodge was really cosy. Was warm enough, when it’s windy can hear it but didn’t affect our stay what so ever. It was really spacious and comfy bed. The balcony was lovely for a morning coffee. The staff were lovely and on hand if needed. Great information packs and good pet area. Lovely fresh eggs and jam in the honesty box. Plenty to do in the surrounding towns and very dog friendly!
