There is disconnect between the very modern SPA, Norman’s lounge, restaurants and on the other hand reception area, rooms, and lobby bar, which seem somewhat dated in comparison. It seems it needs a big investment to carry this modern feel throughout the whole property. Also I didn’t appreciate that if people book through Booking.com they pay £12 parking per day whilst it is free if you book direct. I know they are trying to encourage direct bookings but this is not great for the hotel partners like Booking.com who brings them customers.

The service by all staff - reception, restaurants, bars and SPA was impeccable. Great SPA and treatments. Food was superb both breakfast and dinner.

The only thing that I wasn't entirely please about was not being able to use the swimming pool and spa facilities during the day, due to day visiting guests booking spa slots between 12:30 - 17:30. After all we had also paid to stay at Low Wood Bay Hotel and Spa, so these facilities should also be available for us to use too, maybe even more so.

Everything about the hotel was amazing the facilities were fantastic and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The location was increadible and of course the views across lake windermere were stunning.

Beautiful resort in one of the most wonderful locations the Lake District has to offer.

The lighting in the room - the switches were confusing and we could hear other people in their rooms also struggling with how to use them. Additionally, the spotlight immediately over the full-length mirror is actually a really bad position as it throws too much light into your eye line and strange shadows.

We loved the inclusion of some of the spa / pool facilities and breakfast with the room booking. The food is delicious and the service was always friendly and helpful. The resort smells wonderful everywhere you go, which is a great achievement for somewhere which could easily smell of chlorine due to pools etc.

The only 2 things we found disappointing , were when we asked for cocktails at the Norman bar, there were hardly any ingredients so we could get what we asked for. What drinks we got were not very good so we probably would not order from there again. We had a relish card too which we used inside the hotel but in the thermal journey bar, they said we could not use this, the card states it can be used on the property so that was disappointing too.

Really enjoyed being in the Winander side of the hotel. Very clean and modern and room was lovely. The lady who served us at the bar, I believe her name was Mel, she was extremely lovely and nice to talk to. Thermal journey was amazing, cocktails were amazing and so was my husband’s spa treatment.

Food, drink and spa treatments over priced for what they are, I haven’t holidayed in the UK for a while though so maybe I’m just out of touch! 30 minute massages £105 pp for instance. Breakfast is self service, so basically Premier inn, but with slightly better quality sausages. The charge for that was £21 if booked on the day, so that should give an idea of the prices.

Good location for Windermere, excellent rooms with good beds and showers, use of the pool and sauna included - these were nice but a bit small for the number of people staying there, some good art work too

    1. Limited access to pool facilities during day, frustrating as it was empty ! 2. No complaints over our room, but we were in a quiet area and the occupants in the next room decided to leave their dog in the room while they were at breakfast, consequently dog barked continually ! Not dogs fault shouldn’t have been left or allowed to be in a quiet area. Perhaps people who insist on bringing dogs should be in separate part of hotel !

Location overlooking Windermere, stunning views. Staff throughout professional. Public transport links to wider area immediately outside hotel.

The fact I couldn’t enter the pool & spa facilities at any time I would have liked as a paying guest of the hotel-access was severely restricted. Also the fact a charge for parking is given is just blatant profiteering.

New spa facilities are great and the staff excellent

Not much I didn’t like with my stay, if I was to be super picky I would say the the bed was 2 twins pulled together which I wasn’t bothered by but that literally the only thing I can think off, we stayed in the main bit and not in the winander club so maybe they are much better, the normal room are still really good though

The spa exceeded expectations by a mile, they just don’t advertise it properly, it’s probably the best spa in the lakes (IMO) it has everything from the outdoor log burning sauna overlooking the lake to the indoor pool, jacuzzi which completely relaxes you to new levels it’s like getting in a bath, combine that with all the other bits, it’s a spa that is out of this world, the rooms are a good standard, the restaurant blue smoke is good food and I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world, NYC,DUBAI,SICILY,LONDON etc, and yeah the foods good, breakfast is good, everything you would expect at a buffet breakfast, the hotel in general is really nice

Our hotel room was right next to the main road, and we had a baby under 1, as stated on the booking. The road noise was extremely loud which made it hard for the baby to settle and sleep.

The bar area was lovely and the hotel was extremely clean and had a lovely relaxing vibe about it.

I did not enjoy the hotel parking charge being hand delivered on an invoice prior to checking out. Why not include it within your room rates? Access to the pool was very limited forcing guests, at the available times, to attend all together. We arrived 10minutes after the pool opened and there were no locker bands left. Leaving my clothes and valuables at risk. As a result of the rush to the pool, there was also insufficient locations to have towels or possessions at the pool side, all seating had already been claimed. I intended to do a few lengths but the pool was so busy there was no chance. I did not enioy this arrangement and I think it requires some thought for the future. If the pool was open for longer periods then the rush to all attend at the same time would ease.

The hotel, it's staff, location and facilities were superb. The hotel staff were all particularly accommodating and polite. The hotel provides a fantastic breakfast selection, despite being busy when we visited there was never a pressure to leave. A 11am check out was very well received on the Sunday morning.
