Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHotel slightly tired looking. Was unaware restaurant for dinner and leisure activities in another hotel. Had to return to accommodating hotel to collect elderly father by car after dinner as he has poor mobility. Was advised around 5 minute walk but it took us around 15. Dinner slow service and our main course had to be returned due to being cold. Replacement meal provided without question.
Staff very friendly. Easy parking. Breakfast taken in accommodating hotel where we would have preferred to dine for dinner.

United KingdomIt’s a little run down but then again most Scottish hotels at this price point are. The area the resort is in was not as expected, more like a large forgotten car park rather than a resort.
The family rooms were a good size and the pool was clean, good fun and great for all the family. The staff in all areas were great and very friendly & helpful! We had a delay in one of our meals and we instantly offered a complimentary round of drinks. Breakfast was really good and the restaurant food was also very nice.

United KingdomThe building is tired. Paintwork and carpets look the age of the place. The facilities and staff made the stay amazing but I think that the building has not got to a point where charging premium rates to stay is unacceptable.
The breakfast was superb. Thoroughly enjoyed it as did the rest of the family. Kids entertainment was absolutely brilliant and really made the trip!

United KingdomRooms were a bit dated. Soft play area didn't seem to be cleaned regularly and the cafe wasn't staffed so no opportunity to enjoy a cuppa while the little one played.
Staff were friendly. Location great. Good to have the pool and soft play available on site

United KingdomThe wait for food on Friday night at the restaurant was far too long, a 45-minute wait for children's food was a very long time, when the restaurant was not busy. The location of the family used room 3204 was just beside the main stair door and was used constantly throughout the stay, waking up children during the night and early morning when banging closed. The room had a damaged bath panel, a damaged door, and the window sill was also broken.
The leisure facilities were really good, the swimming pool and soft play were enjoyed by the children.

United KingdomThe rooms are a little dated and our room was cold. However, reception gave us another duvet and a plug in heater. The heater made all the difference. We felt our room was a bit over priced.
The location is very central. It's a child and dog friendly hotel, that's very important to us.

United KingdomProperty is old and looks tired from outside. Rooms initially looks ok but after close inspection were dirty and needed a facelift. Our room was small with a very small bathroom. No bath so pictures for room were misleading. We were in a ‘Family - 3 People’ room but I’d say this is just a double with a sofa bed squeezed in. £15 per night cleaning charge for dog was hard to take considering cleanliness of room.

The room was nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nice size. The location was great. The activity centre was excellent. There was plenty to do especially if visiting qith kids breakfast was nice reading some reviews I was a bit stressed. But honestly it was great. There is plenty restaurants nearby if someone complains about the food there you don't have to eat there. Staff were great. Hotel was OK a bit run down but nothing to concern for me. I was in a interest in our room not the halls etc. It was very pleasant stay and I intend to return late spring early summer definitely.

United KingdomHotel looked rundown from the outside. Inside looked very outdated, place could be doing with a new renovation. Would not say it was worth 4 stars, over priced for the 2 nights that we stayed. We waited over an hour for our main course to come from the Aspect restaurant, very disappointed in the service.
