How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Rooms not particularly large so not easy to find room for two cases. Lifts very small and quite slow. Bath mounted very high so not easy for older people to use the shower.
Centrally located hotel with a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good facilities. An excellent base for tourists with lots of amenities nearby as well as in the hotel itself. Hotel has an individual approach to decor which sets it apart from the chain hotels

The coffee machine .. you needed a degree in coffee machine mechanics to work it … or was that just me??
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent

Nothing really. We did ask for some extra milk portions (to make coffee) which didn't arrive, but that was a minor thing.
Great location near Bond St tube station and Selfridges Room was excellent. Very comfortable and great shower in the bathroom. We arrived much earlier than normal check-in time, but they found us a room which was also great.

Right property size, no crowds and no lines, proper concierge and reception service including emergency action (temporary power outage in my room 🤷🏽♀️) where I have been offered another room to move to. Of course standrd room is small but still good enough for 1 person; overlooking the street. Ideal, convenient location close to Elisabeth Line (Bond Street).

Nothing. Slightly bigger bed in the room we stayed in perhaps - other than that the Mandeville is one of our favourite London hotels - and has the best staff, of that there is no doubt. Great people and fabulous location.
Superb hotel, excellent staff - one of our favourites in London. We really love staying here - proper sense of occasion, and old school service.

Room 306 was very noisy Air conditioner was noisy Two loft doors by main entrance were making strange noises and there was a lot of door banging.

I paid extra for a de luxe room. However room on small side. ( But excellent bathroom)

Our flight was canceled and we missed the first night of the stay and they did not work with us on a refund. To be fair it was past the cancellation deadline but they did allow us to check-in early which was convenient and helpful.
Hotel was excellent with a great location on a quiet street in the Marylebone neighborhood. Several great restaurants and pubs surrounding the facility. Also, a short trip to many of the attractions in central London without the touristy hassle. On a side note, since we were short on time the concierge hooked us up with a black cab private tour where we were able to take in most of the sights within a couple hours. It was amazing and I would recommend it for any visitor to the area.

The lift sometimes takes a while but understandable in this sort of property. The bar area could do with an update on the seating and I wasn’t too impressed with the cocktails but the staff were lovely.
The location is very handy and central. The hotel staff were lovely and friendly. Our room was very colourful, the en-suite was spacious with a wonderful shower, the bed was super comfortable. The room was clean and bright. The concierge recommended a great Italian restaurant and was very helpful and knowledgeable.

The rooms can be little bigger and the lift should definitely be bigger
I liked the location the most. As is normal with all London hotels, rooms are small but clean. Good breakfast and lots of food options around the hotel
