Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing to complain. What was mentioned in the Add, was presented. To access the car park, you have to go around the road. It is not directly accessible from the property. That was a bit of inconvenience. It is chargeable at £6/day. But nothing to complain as Parking wasn't mentioned as part of package and moreover, parking elsewhere will cost you double.

United KingdomNothing really wrong with the room, the only reason I did not give an excellent was the fact that we thought initially that we could get breakfast and that there was a bar area. However there is nothing wrong at all with the place, just that we read old reviews before the change of ownership. At the end of the road though there is a weatherspoons which does a lovely breakfast, so don't let no breakfast put you off. Overall a lovely stay with a welcoming host 🙂
The welcome was lovely-a really nice owner who was chatty and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and everywhere felt welcoming

United KingdomThe only thing stopping this place being perfect was a glitch with the shower. The flow of water stopped and started for no reason. Also the taps in the basin don't stay on, you have to hold them down, which makes it tricky to wash your hands. The Lodge only reopened under the present proprietors a few weeks ago, so I can forgive them for having some teething problems. I am sure the plumbing problems will be quickly rectified.
I consider myself lucky to have snagged a single room in this place on a Saturday night. The Marlow Lodge is far nicer than a typical Blackpool guesthouse, and is more like a proper hotel. The decor is very tasteful, new and modern, and everything is spotlessly clean. My room was really cosy and comfortable. The drinks supplies were very generous. The wifi was excellent. The lady who runs the place is exceptionally friendly and pleasant. The street is quieter than many streets that have a lot of guesthouses, but only a short stroll to South Pier and the Pleasure Beach. From now on this will be one of the first places I consider when visiting Blackpool.

The room was basic but clean. Sleeping arrangements were perfect for a family of 5. Close to amenities and attractions (pleasure beach/south pier) and a short tram ride from the others (Blackpool tower) etc.

United KingdomShower wasn't very powerful but it was fine for a few nights.
Marlow Lodge was a really lovely place to stay. Owners were so friendly and welcoming, breakfast was spot on (our toddler loved his baked beans) and it was in a really good spot not to loud but close enough to walk to the main part of blackpool.

United KingdomThe furniture is a little dated but it was acceptable for the purpose of our stay. The room could benefit from more accessible plug sockets. A bedside lamp in the main room would have been useful. Very limited parking, we paid to use the car park across the road but was £20 for 48hours which was an added cost to be aware of.
Accommodation was a good size we had the double family room ( two double beds). Location was excellent, easy access to South pier and the tram. Tim was a really good host. Great value for money as a base to explore Blackpool.
