Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandI rarely come across UHT milk for drinks these days, would have scored higher for fresh milk. Also, I was travelling with one big checked bag and one small carry on. The small 'desk' was so narrow I couldn't really use it, certainly not to work on.
Nice tidy, clean room with everything I needed.

United KingdomThe room was very bashed up - presumably from previous guests but things were broken, hole in wall etc. The bathroom was also really unpractical and small - it was really hard to shower
Good location and easy check in.

United KingdomObviously goes without saying in central London, but it does get noisy, so it might be a problem for light sleepers. We had to open the windows to let in fresh air and stay cool at night. The bathroom didn't seem to have great ventilation, but was otherwise clean.
Great location near St Pancras and the tube. Comfortable and great value for central London, with welcoming staff and easy to check in.

United KingdomThe rooms were basic, not very comfortable beds. That shower room smelt of damp every time we used it. We had a kitchenette but it didn't have the utensils, glasses etc for us to use so it was pretty pointless in us having it as we couldn't use much of it.
Perfect location for kings cross station. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

LithuaniaThe room was in a newly built cubicle in the inner courtyard (the whole courtyard was built over by such cubicles), I was surprised there were no stickers showing the way out especially as all the doors looked the same. I wonder what would happen there to the guests in case of emergency.
The room was newly furbished, tiny but clean and it had all I needed for one night. The room was in the newly built cubicles in the inner courtyard. The staff in the reception were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomJust slightly tatty in my room, the tap was loose and bent all the way back and forth off its base. Slightly odd looking scruffy bed sheet/layer below the mattress, not sure what that was.
Location was amazing, Staff very friendly, very polite security guard. Nice ambience to the entrance foyer.

United KingdomVery narrow room so bedside light provided could only be used if flex was stretched across the room and lamp placed on a chair, thereby barring access to bathroom/kettle etc. Was therefore unable to read in bed - needs a power point on same wall as bed! Title of "garden room" was misleading - had to go outside and past small flat area covered with fake grass, then down 4 or 5 steep steps to my room. As a woman travelling alone, I did not like to leave the window open at night - would be OK if there had been a grille across the open gap, or a lock to prevent the window being forced wide open.
Clean room, comfortable bed, small but excellent shower, good supply of tea/coffee & milk with pristine kettle, 2 good-sized bath towels and bath mat provided. Very quiet room. Very helpful, cheerful staff. Location very good for Kings Cross & St Pancras. Reasonably priced for the area.

United KingdomThe heating in our room did not work, admittedly we realized this late (midnight) however the "24/7 reception" or "24/7 concierge line" provided was not answering either to resolve the issue. Hence, it was cold and unpleasant but cannot comment whether this is a one-off or regular.
Central location, basic and but acceptable quality hotel. Check in was very convenient and easy. Met expectations and would recommend for budget central London stay

United KingdomThe room I stayed was located on the lower ground floor and facing a road next to the front door so kept waking up through the night with noises. I will stay on the upper floor next time.
