Bar service shocking, closed and didn’t even let us know so we were left with no water for the kids at night, when I asked at reception about the bar he said nothing to do with him they close between 10 and 11pm this was 10.10pm. Swimming pool? Shocking something out of a horror film

    Nice enough, clean

On arrival, the receptionist did not attempt to engage in any conversation. LIterally took our name and gave us our room keys. No chat, no smiles etc. Very unwelcoming. One of our rooms (24) had a broken toilet flush and the bracket for the hand held shower was also broken. The bed light on the window side did not work. The beds in both our rooms (24 and 26) were incredibly soft. Both doors at the bottom to the bathroom were heavily water damaged from the shower. In the bar, the background music was dull (think Ceefax if you're old enough to remember). It was also very cold as lots of windows were open. Lacked any atmosphere. It was generally cold in all the public areas. The breakfast was average - hardly any fruit and a lot of the pastries were rock hard. The hot food was luke warm and not particularly nice. Lady taking room numbers was unengaging and "can I grab your room number?" could do with a bit of variation day to day. The picture on the website of the beautiful house is very misleading. It is like an unatmospheric conference hotel with lots of modern add on extensions. The walkway from the main building to the bedrooms is like going to get on a plane. It all just needs an injection of warmth both in decor and in staff.

We ate at the bar and the food was very nice. Would recommend the grilled steak baguette or rib -eye steak althogu the latter was pricey. Pizza got thumbs up from son. The bar staff were also super friendly (the only ones in the hotel!). It was very convenient for WB studios. We also did a short day trip to London and it was very close to both Watford Junction and King's Langley station (20 mins on fast train). Also very close to M25/M1

Room clean and tidy and ok size for the price. The breakfast was very good. Staff organised moving of room quickly due to TV not working, staff sorted very well. thanks.

The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The hairdryer didn't work. The prices for wine and beer at the bar were very high. The restaurant menu could have been a lot better. Didn't have dinner at the hotel as the menu wasn't great and the prices were very high. Went out to a pub to eat.

The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. I had the cooked breakfast which was hot and well presented. Good quality bacon and sausages.

I was there for 2 days, the big problem of this hotel is the noise because the walls are too thin, for this reason during the night if you have a person near you who makes noises, it could be difficult for you to sleep well.

Found the dinner menu to be a little limited for a family of picky eaters (but still found something for us all), that's all we found to be picky about!

The staff were super friendly and helpful, very patient. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was lovely. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and as much as you want. For our specific needs, the price was one of the best.

The breakfast was busy so was directed to sit in the bar area. The fables were not set up, had to request cutlery which eventually arrived, though no spoons. No glasses on the table so had to use paper cup for juice. Not a relaxing experience resulting in cold food

Lovely environment and comfortable. Also convenient for Harry Potter Studios and Watford

At 19:30, I called reception to ask if there was Netflix access; we were told that the service had been locked. I then informed them that the TV channels were not working, and the receptionist came to the room and had a look. He couldn't fix it and reassured us that he would get his supervisor to look at it for us. The supervisor never turned up, so I called reception and received no answer. Regardless to say, we were not happy! The breakfast was an experience. We arrived and were invited to choose a table. We had a dirty cup and cutlery on the table, which we placed to the side. We had to hunt down a cup and glass because our table had not been set. Then, we started to select our food. The food was a small but nice selection. To put milk in your tea, you had to use the large jug meant for cereal or drinking and leave it on the serving table.

The Hotel's presentation was good, and the room met our expectations, apart from the sink unit being water-marked and needing a good scrape. The bed was very comfortable, and we both slept quickly and soundly. The Hotel's location to Harry Potter was a selling point, and the nice walk to the room was definitely a plus point.
