Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere wasn't a lot of storage for clothes, a small wardrobe with hanging space and 1 shelf, perhaps some drawers on the landing where there was space.
An unusual property in part of a listed watermill. The owners were were very welcoming and took up round the apartment. The apartment was clean and the bed was very comfy. The bonus was freshly made wholemeal bread made with their own milled flour. Delicious!! The pub across the road served good food and cask ales from Cheddar Ales. the location was good , very close to Wells and near a heritage railway and 'strawberry valley'.

United KingdomIt was set in a beautiful place good parking ,roomey, you could pay for breakfast if you wanted , you could sit out the back and chill with a class of drink, they had some cute Guinea pigs as well. We spent 3 days there but would love to go back for a bit longer, also they make great bread from their working milk, and they sell the flour if you want to make your own, the bread was so soft and tasty . Also there are 2 pubs with lovely food in walking distance.

United KingdomI honestly can't think of anything that could have been better. It is not suitable for those struggling with mobility as there are steep steps up to the door and the sitting room is up another flight of stairs. You can here the hum of the mill race water but we found this relaxing.
It was a self-catering apartment. Very comfortable for the quiet retreat that we were looking for. The mill is a working flour mill and bread is baked on the premises which is delicious. Very close to Wells and convenient for a visit to the Wookey hole caves. We had an excellent break and would recommend it for a comfortable get-away weekend or indeed a longer visit.

United KingdomThe only fault I could find was a bit of road noise in the mornings but that was mostly due to the farmers tractors in a hay time frenzy whilst the good weather lasted. So, every thing good/
A fantastic location on the outskirts of the village, with a pub opposite and an artisan bakery on site with a working watermill ! ! Steve and Louise were great hosts and could not have done more for us, highly recommended.

United KingdomCan’t think of anything - honestly - it was all lovely. Louise and Steve explained everything on our arrival and were always available if we needed to ask anything. Helpful written info/tel numbers of local places in our accommodation too.
We were self catering so got our own breakfast. The kitchen was very well stocked and beautifully clean. We were so comfortable - beds and bedding excellent, lounge relaxing with large tv, books and puzzles, and bathroom superb, and again beautifully clean with pristine white towels. Shower and large freestanding bath. Nothing was forgotten. We liked having good recycling facilities too for food waste and paper etc.

United KingdomIf I had to say something negative it would be that as a tall person (6 ft6in) my head rested on the bathroom ceiling. But it was such a lovely bathroom space that it was no bother.
Liked Everything! It was the perfect place to decompress. A country retreat, a home from home. Excellent location for visiting the areas attractions. Good local pubs for food and drink or just stay in and chill.

United KingdomOur stay was too short.
It was perfect and met all of our requirements. The shower was powerful and refreshing, home comforts in all areas and the kitchen was perfectly stocked with equipment if you needed to cook. No problems with parking and being able to bring the car right up close to unload on arrival and pack when leaving.

United KingdomPath from car park rather dark at night. (It didn't bother us as we are used to living without street lights.) No cleaning cloth or dustpan and brush so difficult to pick up the odd crumbs etc.
Generally well equipped. Lovely converted old building. Easy drive to places of interest.

United KingdomThe lodge is in a stunning location with great access to the surrounding area. Louise and Steve were lovely and friendly and the apartment itself was wonderful. Wells, Glastonbury, Brean, Weston are all very accessible from Wookey and Wells centre can be walked in 30 minutes. In addition to all the great places to visit this means that whether you want to eat out or get food in you have loads of options on your doorstep. Unlike a hotel once you've been out and about for the day it was like coming back and having all the luxuries of home. Loved every minute.
