Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe lighting when parking you have a short walk on the lane . Would be nice to have light in back garden. So you can walk to back door.
Quirky .. the weather wasn't the best but I imagine the garden is a great asset in summer.. All equipment you need. There is washing machine if you need it after a day out exploring on your bike . 10 mins walk from the windmill pub . Great food and staff. Being a cottage stairs are very steep . Plenty of parking. Having a big car this was a bonus . Logs were left for log burner, we didn't use it as cottage was warm just with the radiator. I preferred to sit in second lounge as it was lighter. Welcome pack was very thoughtful. Thank you for letting us share your cottage

United KingdomStairs to the bedrooms are steep and not suitable for the very old or young.
Cosy cottage in a beautiful spot. Well equipped with everything we needed. The walks around the cottage are worth doing to see the views from the top of the hill. The garden was enjoyed by us all we even managed to lock ourselves out of the house when we were enjoying the garden, thanks to Helen coming to let us in a disaster was averted.

United KingdomHad not understood that those in the double bedroom would have to walk through the twin bedded room to get downstairs. We should have taken the option of using the bed settee. Yes steep steps and stairs in the cottage but that had been made clear.
This beautiful old cottage with so much character had all we needed. The outlook from the garden was stunning and we were able to start out on walks from the door. Milk and cake on arrival. The log fire. Good central heating keeping the place comfortable and the utility room enabled us to dry our wet clothing. Our small car parked easily in the covered parking area. The bathroom will be nicely updated soon.

Highly recommend if you're in the area!! Beautiful cottage- really spacious, well decorated and well catered for. The location is convenient and the host was wonderful. Would definitely stay here again! If I may say, the pictures on booking.com don't do this place justice and would recommend refreshing them :)

United KingdomThe 2 main bedrooms are joined by an open shared walk through area, as we were 2 couples, we opted to have a bed settee set up in the dining room for extra privacy, but it wasn't comfortable, we kept rolling into the middle of the bed, we were glad we were only there for 3 nights. The parking options for 2 cars is not great.
The property had a quirky layout which was fun. It was well appointed, with plenty of kitchen utensils, microwave toaster, modern cooker, etc. The heating was excellent, very warm! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and chocolate cake. There were lovely views from the garden, but it was not the time of year or weather to enjoy it.

United KingdomUnfortunately there was a slight 'musty' smell in the living room which we think is from the old carpet. The rest of the cottage was fine and apart from that we were comfortable.
Great location for exploring national parks, coastline and little villages. Kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of board games and DvD's, good WiFi. Slow shower drainage wasn't really an issue for us. Gorgeous views from top of garden. Easy to find yet felt cosy and secluded.
