Nothing, all good.! I’d say if you drive to the hotel, stay on the main roads & sub-main roads… ignore any instructions from your sat-nav to divert down the local country lanes, they’re very narrow & have many potholes.

Very quiet area, decent car-park, good en-suite, a warm welcome from the staff… the hotel in general is quite quirky in terms of decor, but very comfortable and clean.

The shower wasn't great with very weak water pressure and possibly a plumbing issue with the toilet. I'm very confident that the staff will have dealt with the issues already.

Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast were first class. Beautiful views from both front and back of the building. Amble parking. Good wi-fi. Very clean. Very welcoming staff who go above and beyond.

Rather drab outside appearance, and very tired decor inside.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our purpose, the food was very good,(best packed lunch we’ve ever had!), and the staff were fantastic; nothing was too much trouble; very helpful and friendly. A special mention for Sunil Kadariya, who was exceptional.

This isn't a criticism of the hotel just a personal preference. I like some background news or music at breakfast. the dining room was so quiet I think it would be good to have something on. Again, that's more a personal preference.

I only had breakfast. The chef and manage were super friendly and efficient. I ordered breakfast when I checked in. Not many hotels cook an omelette so it's always good when I have one. Friendly service and nice atmosphere.

We had a great day on Wednesday but the rain came Thursday !

The Moorland is a great hotel, perfect for Dartmoor walks, individual and very well cared for. Agatha Christie wrote her first novel here in 1916 and you can easily imagine her staying. We returned for our first 2024 visit and I had mushroom curry for dinner. It was so delicious that I went to find out who cooked it. I was surprised to find it was Madan, a wonderful chef recently arrived from Nepal. A Nepalese curry in the middle of Dartmoor ! How superb ! In fact the whole team are Nepalese. The quality of service is excellent, the care and consideration of guests exemplary. We will of course be going back soon. Many thanks to everybody especially Sudeep.

Fantastic location right on the Moor. Beautiful views down to Plymouth sound. Very peaceful setting. Room was lovely and warm with a well appointed bathroom and lots of hot water. The owner was very helpful and courteous.

My bedding was uncomfortable and although the sheets were clean, there was an odour from the duvet, which was too small for the cover and I had to adjust it to be able to sleep. The odd dead flies on floor and carpet a bit grubby.

Staff mostly new and maybe a bit "raw" and, if anything over attentive. Hopefully will relax a bit and settle soon. No EV charging, which would be a nice upgrade for me

There was not enough hot water for three people to run baths in our room . That seems crazy for a hotel not to have enough hot water for guests.
