The room was excellently equipped - even bright directional reading lights on each side of the bed so one could read at night without disturbing one's partner. A large magnifying mirror in the bathroom. A suitcase table (not sure what it's called) which is very convenient for one's luggage. An armchair. Plus of course all the usual things one expects in hotel - a kettle, tea and coffee, lovely towels, convenient mirrors, plenty of hanging space and shelves, etc

Internet connection was not good one day, the reception could not help, but maybe it was just one day.

Location could not be better, probably the best place in town despite train station but you do not hear anything. Stylish, looks like brand new, standards surprised positively. Feels like extra effort was made on each detail (e.g. Fireplace on TV when you enter the room and even the sound ioc a fireplace). The lobby and the bar decorations beautiful, comfortable. Huge bathroom. Quiet despite lively location. The street full of nice restaurants and cafes.

These are all details, but since almost everything was perfect, here's the nitpicking: - I hate the single use cups this chain seems to be using at all locations. I'll never believe they're somehow more sustainable than a regular, washable, old-fashioned cup. Can't believe drinking from those monstrosities is acceptable in a tea culture country. - my room had a window that couldn't be opened all the way. I understand it's probably for safety reasons, but there was a build up of cobwebs and dirt in the hard to reach section and it just looked ugly and didn't fit the overall very clean room. - I stayed for four nights and never figured out what the proper way of paying for breakfast was. It looked like some people paid at the bar, some at the reception and some didn't at all. One day I was surveyed during a breakfast by a lady asking me for a room number and whether I have paid, the next day no one asked. :)

I loved my stay. All the staff members I encountered were nice and helpful. Superb breakfast. All spotlessly clean.

Perhaps I was just unlucky with my room but the soundproofing wasn't great - I could hear the people upstairs moving around and in the morning I realised I was next to the laundry store when they started rolling out the cleaning trolleys. It was fine as I was getting up early for work but I would have been disappointed if I was there for a relaxing break.

The location is amazing - so handy for the train. And the decor and colour scheme is great. Room was absolutely spotless. Breakfast had a good range of clearly labeled vegan options.

The hotel location was really centred to the most historical attractions. The room was not so big for the price paid, however it was cosy. The Bed was really comfortable. All the staff were really helpful and friendly.

Great location. Very central to all the main attractions. 2 mins to the Royal Mile, 10 mins to Colton hill and the castle, 1 min to the national gallery. Friendly staff. Hotel was very clean. Lovely comfortable bed. Modern bathroom with a big shower. Very quiet for such a central location. Not many chanels on the TV, but we weren't in the room very much to watch it. Would definitely recommend to others, and stay again.

what didn’t I like? There was a barricade on the street just off the sidewalk outside the front door due to some minor street repair. I say that to satisfy this question.

The staff is exceptional. The building is nicely laid out to fit into the available space. Very modern. Good TV content. Nice breakfast bar. When it came time to leave, the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Honestly I couldn't ask for anything more.
