A room for 4 found the bin was very small and filled extremely quickly. Fortunately for the 2nd day we were able with no hassle to get an extra 2 little bin bags from the cleaning staff which was invaluable. The main problem we had was the shower, on day 1 it took an age to get hot. 2nd day bathroom got flooded a little as the plug was left slightly a jar from drainage hole initially but by 2nd day somehow it sat better in drainage and caused so flooding before realised as without plug the shower was already under threat of overflowing. Best removing these from room if can't improve drainage.

From check in to check out the stay was smooth and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and we couldn't fault them in the slightest. Location was very quiet and remote which was great for being able to chill and relax when at property.

So bit of an error on double booked room.. was resolved but still a little disturbing for the poor person I walked in on !! No more to say!! Room comfortable but bed timber framed and not great. Held yo gether with repair straps!!! Quite squeeky!!!! With a timber Bed end for me being 6ft wasn't great and didn't get a great nights sleep. Shower was struggling to take the water away ... did report it and the comment i got back was youwereluck the shower worked... hmmm..! The walls of the rooms are not particularly sound proof and the guy next door didn't need to use a mobile to talk to people if you get my drif. But for what I paid I suppose it was expected! Sorry

Very friendly staff and excellent food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.

The room could have been a lot cleaner! There was lots of dust around and hair on the bed - bathroom was generally clean but could have done with a good scrub. Heating seemed to take a long time to come on and warm the room - that could have been due to the size of the room however!

Massive room for the low price paid, free wifi is always great, hotel was safe and in a lovely location.

Some of the furniture needed some TLC and the grout in the bathroom could do with being replaced.

Just what we needed for the night, it's basic but comes well equipped.

The bathroom was very cold, quite basic and a bit dated but suitable for our short 2 night stay, it wouldn't put us off staying here again as the positives outweighed the negatives for sure.

The room was spacious enough to accommodate a double bed, a double sofa bed and a single bed so easily slept us all, a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children). On arrive the sofa bed wasn't made up but after mentioning this to the staff, they immediately provided linen and made the extra double up for us ready for the evening. They were very accommodating.

One evening, after ordering drinks following our meal, we were informed that the bar would be closing at 9:30 PM. Given the hotel's secluded setting and the fact that we had already consumed a couple of beverages, we felt we had no choice but to retreat to our room rather than enjoying a leisurely evening of conversation and planning for the next day. Had we been made aware of the bar's early closure, we would have chosen to dine at another establishment where we could have unwound more comfortably without the need to retire early. Although we understand that some venues adjust their operating hours based on guest volume, this unexpected change seemed to benefit neither the hotel nor its patrons. Despite this inconvenience, we appreciate the hotel's efforts in other areas, and hope our feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.

My daughter and I recently stayed at this hotel, and while we had an overall pleasant experience, there was one aspect that left us disappointed... see below in the next section. We were off exploring Wales during the day, and looked forward to eating at the hotel in the evenings after busy days exploring. This worked well, and we were able to explore castles and the Clwyd hills and villages, and walks along the Dee estuary. There are many things to do within 10-20 miles of the location, including the surprisingly big and impressive Flint Castle.

Party was going on so couldn’t really sleep and had a very early morning to hike. Shower leaked everywhere across the floor and had to use the towels to mop it up

Own little room, just stoped here to travel from while hiking. Room was cosy nothing special, felt like a travel lodge abit with a sofa.

The walls were quite thin. Our neighbour left his TV on until 3am and we could hear it through the wall. Also when we had a shower the water collected on the window sill.

The location and the views were lovely. It was also good value for money.

Just a little attention to maintenance of the room would enhance anyone's stay. Firstly the handle on the door to the room was only held in place by one screw. There was no seal on the bottom of the shower screen which made large puddle on bathroom floor, the shelf in the bathroom was tilting downwards so we were unable to put toiletries on there and finally the panel behind the bed came away when you put the lights on. As stated before just a little maintenence and the room would be absolutely fine.

The room was clean and well presented. The restaurant was very good, food was lovely and all the staff at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. Parking was plentiful and electric car charging points available for customers and locals.

Room was a bit dated and basic, a bit like 90s uni halls . The door to the room seemed quite old with just a yale lock and I don’t know that as a female on her own I felt that safe. There were no curtains in room, just blinds so, as my room backed on to the big carpark at the back and there was a security light there I kept getting light in the room through the night that woke me up. The room was in a block with three other rooms and it can be quite noisy when other guests come in / leave because the corridor is quite echo-ey. Outside the door to the block there were a lot of cigarette ends and piles of leaves: it just needs sweeping. Parking spaces at the front were definitely tight but there is lots of parking round the back.

Price, location (just off A55, close to Flint), restaurant food was very good for the price; bank of EV chargers. Great shower. All the staff were friendly and I didn’t feel at all consious about eating in the restaurant on my own.
