Only couple of small negatives, our room was next to the storage room and so we were woken early by lots of noise. The pillows were not the comfiest.

The hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and accommodating and our room in the courtyard was superb!

The beds! The room and bathroom are very good but the beds seem cheap and very uncomfortable.

The property has charm it is clean and the bathrooms very modern the bedrooms look good but you need to sort out the plug sockets as drying your hair is a mission

Room corporate style with little character compared to main building. Pillows too hard. However in no way would this stop us from returning or recommending.

Amazing historical building and grounds. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast good quality food with choices to suit every taste and diet. Ample on site parking. Room spotlessly clean, good size, great bathroom with all facilities needed. No noise could be heard at night. Relaxed atmosphere.

Deluxe Double room: We booked the Deluxe Double room, but we were given a different small room downstairs. The next door was talking all night, which was very loud for us. I found the room small but very clean, and it was just not extraordinary for a night to pay that much. This room could have had a better view, but I was not impressed with the value of the money.

The restaurant food: The restaurant food was fantastic. I enjoyed my dinner. The waitresses were very friendly and did a great job.

After giving me the menu at breakfast the staff member disappeared and I didn’t know how or where to order the breakfast. The staff member came back and I ordered porridge and eggs Benedict to follow. Both were brought out at the same time and the porridge was only lukewarm. The radiator in the bathroom never seemed to warm up the bathroom so it was chilly in there. Very little shelf space for makeup in the bathroom. And no good lighting around mirrors to do makeup in the bedroom.

Options for breakfast was great. Variety for different dietary requirements. Room was a good size with a comfortable warmth.

Staff were not welcoming on arrival and departure, they did not enquire about our stay. Menu in brasserie was very limited and was also the same in the restaurant and of poor quality. Breakfast was very disappointing and did not reflect the high price. Stayed for 2 nights, the tiny toiletries were not replenished and not sufficient for one person for a night. Room overlooked the service area for the kitchen with staff talking/smoking and throwing out rubbish and bottles till at least 2 am! Hotel seems to concentrate on big events and less on the individual frequent visitors.

The bedroom was nicer than our last few stays because of the character-fulness of the room on the second floor. We only use this hotel due to its location and character.

The pillows were very hard but ok. It would be nice to be offered a choice as some hotels do. Im sure they would have helped had i mentioned it . So a very minor point.

A superb hotel with beautiful grounds. Real historical building. Excellent staff, dinner was lovely as was breakfast. Will mist definitly be returning very soon. Cheistmas decorations were beautiful. Very festive.

Bit of a leak in the bathroom made the floor wet, and no real action to fix it during our stay
