It was a little loud when going to sleep as we were above the pub and had windows open as it was a hot night but this wasn’t the end of the world

Very clean and tidy room, had everything we needed. We had dinner in the pub too and the food was great. Very friendly and helpful service. Nice atmosphere

The rooms felt a little old, but they are probably very old and it kind of increased the charm anyway.

The staff was superb and the food was very good. Dinner far exceeded what I expected from a small pub in a small village.

The kettle in the room could have done with descaling. The floor was very squeaky in the bathroom. Our sleep was disrupted from being exceptionally noisy from the pub below one night.

The size of the room was great and the quirkiness. The pub location was excellent... Good menu variety.

We were not given a key to get in after hours but we were told that a door would be left open for us which it was not. We ended up having to get in through a storage area. Make sure you get a front door key. It appears to be a meeting point for early morning cyclists.

The staff were welcoming and their response to a heating issue was immediate. The room had been recently refurbished. There was plenty of room with a good en-suite. The bed was very comfortable. The location could not have been better for a wedding in Grittleton House. Breakfast and an evening meal were very good.

For the money, there's little to argue with. Just unfortunate that we were only really passing through and therefore had little time to properly explore the surrounding area.

Staff and owner were friendly and helpful, room was spacious and comfy (and also a little quirky – in a good way), Cotswolds location was charming. What's not to like?

My only criticism would be that despite staff having lit a stove in the conservatory where breakfast was being served it was actually uncomfortably cold, and while the breakfast was enjoyable, sitting at the table shivering did take away from our experience somewhat. That said it was was very cold weather so this may generally not be the norm.

Staff were very helpful and welcoming, and despite not having received information from Booking.com of our actual booking, the lady quickly sorted a room for us and made us feel very welcome. There was a problem with the heating in our room which was quickly resolved to our satisfaction. There was a lovely atmosphere in the bar and it was somewhere we could relax for a few drinks after a busy day. We were made very welcome at breakfast, the food was good and staff were very attentive.

Couple of very minor points due to it being an old building: single glazed window means outside conversations and occasional traffic can be heard; would like a radiator or at least a heated towel rail in the bathroom as it got quite cold at night; it was very hard to tell if the bath plug (in room 1) was open or closed and water stayed in the bath for a while after using the shower.

I went in with the expectations that’ll it would be just another room above just another pub but I was proved wrong in a very positive way. The room was excellent; comfy bed, warm, lots of storage, good facilities. The bathroom had been refurbished and was spacious. The staff were so warm and welcoming, the location next to a popular wedding venue is perfect (just a couple of minutes walk) and it represents excellent value for money. The pub downstairs is cosy and provides very tasty food, both at breakfast and dinner time. I’d rate it 9.5 if I could, and hope to stay here again in the future if I need to be in the area!
