Margaret the hostess was so accommodating, going that extra mile even taking us to our wedding venue and mothering us, with our nightie on the radiator and the bed turned down.

As the house is near a main highway if the window is open it can be a bit noisy. However the fact that it is near the highway is also a good thing sometimes.

Nothing was too much trouble for Margaret and we were treated with the utmost of care and attention. Being just off the main road it would be ideal for people on business.

Margaret was the most friendly host I've ever met! The house is really quiet even if is beside the motorway and has plenty of space outside and a parking space enclosed in the property. The bed is super confy and the only bad part is that will make you wanna stay in it all day!! The breakfast was DELICIOUS (we went for Scottish breakfast) and was made on the spot, perfect way to start the day with a fresh and nice Scottish breakfast. Everything was very clean.

We received a very warm welcome from Margaret, nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was relaxed and homely. We booked because we liked what we read about the teaching that the b and b funds, and it was good to find out a bit more about it. We opted for cereal and toast, but were offered the option of cooked breakfast. I would certainly encourage others to support them in what they are doing.

Only issue - not BnBs fault. Road outside is dual carriageway with no turns. Have to go up to the next roundabout if you're on the wrong side like we where... While satnav kept on infuriatingly suggesting a u turn.

Adult travelling with my parents. Got adjoining rooms. Parents had largest and most opulent room ever see in BnB. Great shower. Nice beds. Cheap for 3. VG value for money. Short distance to Glasgow. Lovely house, lovely host, great breakfast. Quiet location, 5 mins from town.

Arrived Sat about 15.45 then told booking in was not until 17.00 - but did get into the room, as we had been at a venue and were rather wet and the early booking in fee would be waived which is normally £8.50 each!!!!! Also was not made aware that there is a small charge for a full Scottish breakfast -£3.00 per person, the £75 included a continental breakfast, so all in all the 1 night cost £98.00 - not happy with all the charges added on!

This did not apply to us, but some people may not be happy that Margaret works and so on check in necessarily has to be late on some days etc. Again didn't apply to us, but some people may find it difficult to find.

Margaret, the owner, was so kind and helpful, and the facilities were very good.

5pm check in time - most B&Bs allow check in at 4pm or even earlier. Continental breakfast included in price was fairly limited in choices. Nearest recommended restaurant was a £9 taxi drive away.

Convenient/close to the Ayrshire Coastal Path. Redecorated room in traditional style with updated shower room/en-suite.

Once we have checked in, we were told that kids are only allowed into rooms on ground floor and not on first floor due to safety concerns. I booked a big king size bedroom in the first floor, but because I have kid I was told to adjust in the ground floor double room. Parents enquire about the room suitablity for kids before booking it.

Good quiet and clean rooms. Staff is very friendly.

Enjoyed four nights here in comfort, in a spotless room with all amenities. Margaret could not have been more welcoming and friendly, and went out of her way to ensure that I had everything I needed. Highly recommended - and whenever I am in the area again I will definitely aim to stay at Nethermains.

The hotel itself is nice, but after the owner has been drinking, I would not recommend staying there. After making no fault at all, all of my belongings were thrown out of the window by her, her language was foul and she called the police on me. I paid my full £90 for 2 nights and had no refund after being manhandled out of the room after one night of staying. I showed police a receipt and proved that what I was saying was true. Although she is very welcoming at first, she acted in an extremely unprofessional manner for no apparent reason. Despite this being a lovely place, the owner is the rudest person I have ever met. I was also accused of damage which when investigated by police was found to be untrue and nobody was charged. I wouldn't recommend that anyone stays here after the experience that I have had.

The room was a little cold in the morning but Margaret turned the heating up for us. The room hadn't been used for a little while and smelt a bit damp.

Margaret was lovely and very friendly. The bed was excellent and so comfortable.Cooked Breakfast rather than continental cost us extra but was really tasty.
