How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Sofa bed was in poor condition. Living space had minimal space and seating for a family. No real decor to make the space feel warm and appealing.
Great location, easy access to transportation. Helpful staff. Well stocked Kitchen and laundry available in suite. Renovated clean bathroom.

One lift was faulty, the other very slow. Not a problem for me in April but imagine it could be hot in summer. Top floor with no aircon.
Great location short walk from South Kensington tube. I had a massive studio apartment 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a sofa bed in kitchen area. All very clean and comfortable. On 8th floor quiet for London and couldn’t hear other guests. Also felt safe with 24hr front desk.

The heat. Too much heating in the building and the flat. Therefore too many expenses that could be void

The internet is available only for one day if you make your reservation via booking.com, the rest of the days you have to pay extra to use it. To have free internet you have to book directly on their website. Also, the internet connection disconnects every time you don't use it for 30 seconds. It was very inconvenient for work. Additionally the first room they offered me had a clogged sink, so I requested a new room and they accepted it.
The location is great. It is only 15 mins walk from Harrods shopping mall and other nice stores and restaurants. The staff is friendly and easy to communicate with.

No power point in the bathroom. You have to dry your hair in the kitchen and use the microwave as a mirror. No airconditioning. Difficult to get in and out of the bath.

The shower sprayed water everywhere and I mean everywhere and left puddles.
Location was great. The power went out and it took 3 hours to be fixed.

Paintwork under the windows was peeling off and there were no pictures on the walls so quite a sterile feel.

Really disliked the smokers congregating out the front. It felt intimidating and I hate that the smoke drifted inside.
I loved the cure studio. Just right for me.

Some little things need renovation. The front part of the bath tub is off , the toilet paper handle needs to be replaced and the mirror closet s sliding doors do not slide .
Good value for money , great location , we asked for a sunny room and they gave us 957 which was great . The size of the room is excellent, the kitchen very clean

This was the size of a tiny hotel room, it should not be advertised as an apartment. In addition, there was no free Wi-Fi and having to pay for it, the connectivity was pretty bad. The lack of free internet was listed and I missed it in the fine print, but in this day and age free Wi-Fi is sort of a given and it was quite surprising to be asked to pay £6/ day for internet access. The room was very small with barely enough space to move around, the bathroom didn’t have any plug points, and they offer “cleaning” only on alternate days, and charges extra for clean towels/ linens. There’s also construction going on next door which can get noisy.
Great location and access to transport, grocery stores, cafes and restaurants.

the room next door was under repairs so there was power drilling and other power tool used for 3 days of our stay, very noisy from morning til afternoon, no mention to us about that
