Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere were one or two staff who were lovely and couldn't fault them. However, there were some who were quite rude. They were openly complaining about other staff members in the restaurant. We also asked for a table of 7 for dinner, told absolutely not yet the restaurant was completely empty. We then asked another lady who was very helpful and sorted a table for us. Overall the staff has a bit of attitude whenever you asked for anything, they came across like ti was a problem. Service for food and drinks also very slow. We waited almost an hour for our mains one night. At breakfast it took 30mins for the food to arrive even though you have to pre order and wasn't hot. Took about 20mins to get a coffee.
Rooms are really clean and nice enough for a short stay. Chipping Campden itself is really lovely. Food pretty good. Would recommend staying as a good price. Just a shame about some of the staff.

United KingdomThe lighting in the bedroom was very poor. Even the bedside lights did not give enough light for reading in bed. If you really wanted to read you would have done better in the bathroom.
We had two pleasant and acceptable meals in the dining room. The room was well-appointed with an armchair as well as a dressing table and stool, and ample room for luggage. Good to have the hotel car park available as well.

United KingdomOne of the Duty Managers clearly not particularly happy (with customers? his job? something else?). It's a shame as his behaviours were at odds with the rest of his colleagues who were outstanding.
Great location, most staff we met were outstanding, nice facilities, although it's an historic building and looking slightly faded in places. Food and drink service and quality very good.

United KingdomService staff in the restaurant were very slow ordered a bottle of water & waited 25 minutes for water glasses unable to get a coffee after my evening meal as the person who does the coffees had gone home.
Breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive although we pre booked a time of 9.30am

United KingdomWe had a shock when we checked out because 10% was added to our whole bill (accommodation and meal we purchased night before) as a discretionary tip for the staff. Do not think this is right. We paid it but should have been told ahead of time that 10% would be added to any food you purchased as well as your room. We would not have eaten at the hotel restaurant if we'd known as there are nicer places to eat within easy walking distance.
Nice hotel. Food in restaurant ok but nothing to write home about. Good location as there is a car park right behind the hotel. Don't try house red wine, which was awful!

United KingdomBreakfast orders with a time slot and choice of breakfast were taken day before but all guests seem to be there at same time tho time slot was for two hours we waited 40 mins to be served on the 9.30 sitting so be prepared not to expect a speedy breakfast. Not sure if less staff on kitchen duty on a wk/end which could have been the reason.
Hotel nicely located in middle of town. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Nice coffee shop there too.

United KingdomEn-suite shower was a bit cramped and there was a draft from the sash window, but that’s to be expected in such a historic property.
Great location in the centre of Chipping Campden. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent! I ate in the restaurant for dinner as well, which was very good. Guests also get a discounted rate at the spa across the street, and I went over for an evening swim.
