Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Central location near the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links. Easy to walk into the centre and to tourist attractions.

United KingdomEdinburgh as a whole is expensive. I was not surprised at the room rate but I would return.

IrelandBreakfast not included and there was long queue for the swimming pool.
Great location (central, not noisy), swimming pool included (with lift from pool to rooms), perfect stay for families with small children (the extra bed for the children was probably the best we found so far in terms of safety, cleanliness and comfort). The restaurant is expensive, but at least we found live music.

United KingdomMy son felt the sofa bed wasn't the comfiest but would not stop us recommending this as a great place to stay.
My 11 year son and I had a really enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, we loved the pool and the restaurant was good for both breakfast and evening meals. The room was a good size, well equipped and clean. The hotel is in a great location and within easy walking distance to good restaurants at Grassmarket plus popular tourist attractions including the castle, Old Town, Mary King Close and the National Museum of Scotland. It was a 15 min walk to the tram which we used to get to and from the airport and found very easy and straight forward.

Cayman IslandsThe noise from the outside was very loud from our street view room on the 3rd floor .
Having the pub and restaurant inside of the hotel was a much added bonus because it rained 2 of the days while there so we hung out at the pub listened to live music and ate at the restaurant.

United KingdomHad to wait for pool no slots organised but turned out fine. Jacuzzi too much chlorine. Sauna large but changing facilities very small and open shower but overall an added bonus so not complaining as such. Breakfast was fine but not wonderful.
Clean and comfortable with good location to old Town and not too far from New quarters. Rooms clean. Pool small but OK and kids enjoyed. Large sauna. Plenty of towels. Good value for money.

United KingdomMy friend had a blue badge for parking but no space in the car park. Did manage to locate on street parking though. Breakfast was terrible and not value for money at all. The apples tasted like pineapple; the tea tasted like coffee; the water was tainted with cranberry juice; the fried eggs were like plastic; the scrambled eggs were runny with an odd taste and the bacon was burnt. Poor vegan options for one of my friends.
Beds were very comfortable. Rooms was clean and well laid out. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room and hotel were good.

United States of AmericaThe carpet in our room was badly worn and stained, definitely not what we expected for the price that we paid. We didn't end up using the pool or hot tub because it was complicated to fill out the form and have to pick up an additional key for use.
Loved the location of this hotel. Super easy to walk to the center of the city and lots of fun little cafes nearby! Staff was very friendly and it was easy to drop our bags with them when we first arrived.
