Decor and fitting are very 'tired'. Bar not well stocked, i.e. no cointreau.

There was no mention that the hotel car park had to be paid for, it just mentions "first come first served". I paid for breakfast to be included but was handed a pink card which mentioned £17.95 for full English. The view from my room was the back of other dirty buildings and fire escapes. Room was looking very old and desperate need of redecoration.

Location is good, as it is on the seafront and close to everything. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was very disappointing. Tepid at best and on one day the eggs were actually cold. There was no choice of eggs - just fried - and the tomatoes were tinned. There were no extra choices like porridge or kippers.

    Comfortable bed. Clean room

Rooms need updating quite shabby looking but comfortable enough. Noisy trucks backing into opposite building and cobwebs hanging from door number.

It was reasonably priced and right on the sea front walking distance to pier. Common parts such as restaurant, hotel lobby, bar all decent and prices reasonlable.

Window ‘whistled’ through its frame due to wind, quite loud. Felt tired decor. Everything looked like it could do with an extra bit of effort in cleaning.

Excellent hotel location, very comfortable bed and lovely bath. Reception staff were splendid. 104 year old lift was an adventure. Brighton was very friendly.

We couldn't turn the radiator off and the window didn't open. But there was a fan in the wardrobe, which we left on permanently. It would have been too hot otherwise. We did report it when we left.

Well located hotel, right on the seafront. We booked a standard room and was impressed with the size and facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel had a great atmosphere, the bar inside and outside was buzzing in the afternoon, so it must be the place to go!

We could hear the people in the rooms on both sides of us early in the morning and in the evening. Shower was either too hot or too cold and not much in between and the toilet was too powerful when it flushed and sprayed water everywhere even with the lid closed. Room 507

    The location was excellent.

Unfortunately the hotel does need a lot of work it’s now looking very tied. But being right on the seafront you can understand it’s taking a battering from the elements. Inside you can see previous water damage to ceilings. I have been told it’s having a lot of money being spent to bring it up to date which it does need.

Great location staff very friendly also go out of there way to make your stay very comfortable. Food in the hotel was very good & good value for money if you were staying half board or even B&B. I have stayed here before this is why I have gone back a second time would definitely recommend.

The beds were very soft for us, but luckily, just staying for one nite - we did bring our own pillows as we had a terrible time with theirs last time. For hygiene, maybe a brass handle could be put on the last door when you come down stairs - I think all the others have one.

A lovely welcome for us and our four-legged family member. Great breakfast with lots of choice, and the hot food hot. On top floor (first time there), so it was very quiet. Great location - easy to get to everything. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I had called ahead prior to booking to query the facilities and to confirm the whole hotel was dog friendly. My issue was that parking is extremely limited and when I questioned this on the phone I was told as a hotel guest it would be no issue, on arrival it was completely full and ended up costing £40 to park which is absolutely ridiculous.

    Extremely dog friendly
