Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe property was spilt up in separate buildings and our room was up steep flights of stairs that were difficult to manage.
Location was wonderful, close to Victoria station.

AustraliaThe air conditioning was a bit weak and as our room faced the sun in the morning, it was a bit hot when getting ready for our day. The stairs didn't bother us too much as the staff were lovely helping us with our bags, but they might be an issue for other people. I look forward to seeing the rooms refurbished which is planned to start very soon.
The area was safe and very attractive with transport, pubs and basic shopping nearby. The staff were very accommodating and managed to move us to a larger, more comfortable room than the one we booked which was tiny. We will definitely stay here again!

AustraliaExtractor fan in bathroom could have been stronger for shower steam. Air conditioner seemed to struggle but certainly assisted in hot weather.
Extras in the room like water and biscuits were appreciated. Helpful staff - luggage stored until room ready and assistance taking it upstairs. Very convenient location near Victoria coach station and restaurants, pub, shops nearby.

Chinatiny room, no lifts, the main reason is that the antique building's architecture limits the room size.
perfect location, very good breakfast, nice staff, complimentary biscuits and glass bottles water (including sparkle and still water)

United KingdomWe visited during a heatwave and our room was extremely hot. The air conditioning / fan didn't have much of an effect and unfortunately the room didn't have a window that we could open as it was situated on the ground floor, with only a door leading to a small outdoor area (which we didn't feel comfortable leaving open at night).
The location of the hotel is fantastic, within easy reach of Victoria Station and with lots of cafes etc nearby. The continental breakfast was simple, but it had everything we needed, including delicious croissants. The staff were friendly and happy to help with any queries we had. The room was clean, tidy and generally comfortable.

AustraliaProvide what your web site and the hotel’s web site confirms is available. AC in the rooms is on the web site advertising for this location. Some of the hotel staff denied this even though it was in black and white. Then to be told it would be resolved, only to discover it would take 2 weeks. Then to discover that the AC had not worked since January. Then to be told there was no means of resolving the matter and no alternative accommodation. Then to be told that it was not up to the staff to use their best endeavours to resolve the matter and to be directed to resolve the matter myself. Poor customer service and false advertising wrapped into one. So as directed I contacted Booking.com and miraculously we were offered a room as advertised that had AC in the room. While I really appreciate the assistance provided by some staff I am completely dissatisfied with what was required to resolve this matter. I was on holiday and should not have been subjected to such a poor response. As is my right and responsibility I will reference this matter on Google Maps, where I currently have 1.3M views and rated in the top 10% of reviewers of hotels etc in the world. If you feel compelled to respond then I would appreciate knowing that the false advertising is no longer an issue, particularly as it could be resolved in a matter of hours. Finally, I am extremely appreciative that Booking.com Provided such a prompt response to this matter. Thank you.

United StatesWe know it is not your fault, but the Air Conditioning going out made for a tough first night plus our shower water was cold. However, the wonderful manager, Sarah, gave us a new room for our final 2 nights - it was great!! We appreciate her thoroughness and kindness. All staff were very sweet and helpful!!
Breakfast was very tasty - loved the croissants with jam, the fruit, and cereal selections. Nice juice options.

United KingdomThe air con wasn’t working and so we were given a portable fan which was ok but just blew hot air about the room which wasn’t ideal as it was 32 degrees all weekend.. not their fault as they are waiting for missing parts
Breakfast was amazing - best croissants ever, so big and fresh and good quality layers. I would come back for the croissants alone. Super friendly staff, all of them were happy and wanted to help in some way or another or make nice general chit chat. They held our luggage for us before check in and again after check out free of charge. The room was spacious, shower was powerful and in room amenities were fab and topped up daily (toiletries, tea bags & biscuits ect). There is a hairdryer and kettle and plenty of plugs (just not near the beds or bedside table). Plenty of towels & toilet paper and the room felt safe and secure.
