Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

it was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well appointed - all the implements you could have for a self catering holiday. Swancott was welcoming and left us freshly baked cake!

United KingdomFabulous supply of hot water with a good strong shower but personally I think the bathroom would benefit from an upgrade & we found the towel sizes to be skimpy.
Wonderful location with fabulous views of the sea & just a few minutes walk from a stony beach. Friendly host, brilliantly appointed kitchen with family size fridge freezer & induction cooker. Choice of local supermarkets poor so it's great to be able to do a big shop & store/freeze it if you choose to self cater. Use of shared laundry a bonus for drying walking clothes. Beautiful, tranquil setting.

United KingdomThe Bed was not the most comfortable and the duvet was more for winter weather. But that was a personal view which others might not agree with.
Perfect Location with lovely sunsets. Convenient for travelling around the area. The Cottage was very nice as was the host. Nice and quiet with just the odd sound from the countryside which we did not mind at all. It was a pleasant change to stay on a farm too !

United KingdomBed was a bit creeky - adequate but would prefer something a bit more comfortable. Lounge carpet a little bit tired. These were very minor observations... On the whole everything was great.
Lovely peaceful farm cottage break. Views of the hills and the sea along with sheep and cattle grazing. Kitchen well equipped including useful large fridge freezer - local grocery shopping is not the best. Nice table and benches just outside the front door to dine or drink from.

AustraliaSome of the mattresses were less comfy than others, with springs you could feel. The furnishings were somewhat old and tired - the sofas in particular are at a point where standard cleaning can only do so much. These were minor things and didn't really affect our stay. Some notes for people thinking of staying here: you need to bring ALL consumables for the kitchen, including tea, coffee, sugar, and seasonings, and all your shampoo etc for the bathroom. They did have hand soap, toilet paper, washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs, hand towels, larger towels and teatowels, but if you want a larger bath towel you need to bring one. The "beach" nearby is not great, so don't expect a beach holiday here - it's stony not sandy, and difficult to walk on, with big, slippery seaweed-covered stones. We tried to get to the water but gave up. You might have more luck when the ride is in. If you stick to the grass you get nice views though. Bring insect repellent, as I got bitten by a horsefly there.
Host was a delight. She went above and beyond to accommodate us with little things we'd forgotten. The views were fantastic. The walls are very thick so you don't get noise from neighbours, and it's nice and cool in hot weather. WiFi was decent for internet conference calls (not sure what streaming would be like as we didn't need it.) Some nice walks in the area and if you have a car there's lots to do nearby. The place was clearly cleaned and cared for to a high standard. Kitchen looked quite recently renovated with good appliances including a dishwasher.

United KingdomNothing at all, it was perfect
The house is perfect, has everything you could need and it is a proper home from home. The WiFi connection was amazing, the sofas where so comfy, the kitchen well equip. Literally nothing bad to say about anything. The location was great as day drips to Tywyn, Aberdovey, Barmouth, Fairbourne all very close. We loved our stay and as a family with small children I would definitely stay here again as we felt so safe and there was no worries about the children running out into a busy area. Recommend 100%

United KingdomThe only thing I would have liked was for the bathroom to have been warmer as there was no radiator and the towel rail took some time to warm up.
The setting was beautiful. It was such a relaxing place to have a holiday with hardly any traffic and a five minute walk through the fields to the stoney beach. The accommodation was simple, clean and comfortable and Swancott Pugh, our host, couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming.

The ambience of the place, the geniality of the host, the location, the views, the SUNSETS, the sky at night (so many stars) and the excellent value for money. We visited to attend my Mothers funeral, but our host made our stay a memorable one, and we will definitely be back.

‘Plas Y Nant’ combines coast, countryside and a traditional farm location against the beautiful backdrop of the mountains of Gwynedd. We received a warm Welsh welcome from the owner. The accommodation is warm and spacious, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. A real home from home. An added bonus was that the TV was much larger than our Home TV Screen! The views from the window were stunning and we enjoyed seeing the sheep and lambs. Despite Storm Eunice we had a brilliant week with plenty to explore in the area.

Sri LankaIt can be a bit tricky to pin point the location on the sat nav. The final cottage point was mixed up and led us to the neighboring street but they were aware of the problem and pointed us in the correct direction.
Brilliant location with great views. We took a hike up the hills as well as walked along the beach. There were sheep by the windows. Its a very nice cottage and wonderful to spend time in with the family.

United KingdomThe bathroom was nice and large but rather chilly when we visited in September as it only had a small towel heater. The kitchen was great but Swancot please buy a newer tin opener as we really struggled with the one we found there. The TV was nice and large but it does not work with wifi and seems to require a cable to connect it to the Internet router - this should allow use of smart tv functions like BBC iplayer etc. One disappointment but no fault of the property or owner was that the local council decided to shut the famous Barmouth bridge for winter renovation the day after we arrived - had to use a lovely little ferry instead though so still great!
Very friendly and welcoming host! Very bright location near a farm and shingle beach. Lovely courtyard to sit out in with sunset views. Good shared laundry facilities. Spacious inside. Lovely modern kitchen. Great lounge with big TV and wifi. Comfy bedrooms. Very effective electric storage heating. Cute sheep outside our lounge window!
