Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo heating, but the room wasn’t too cold but can imagine it being later in the year. No chef, but they provided breakfast bags and there were cheap places to eat near by. Woman behind the bar refused to serve a whisky after asking what we would like to drink for some reason.. if you’re closed just say that rather than taking an order and saying you can’t follow through with it
Bed was comfy, room was nice, great places to eat near by, was close to were we needed to be the next day

United KingdomWe understand that it's location makes it challenging to attract kitchen staff. Breakfast is provided in a carry out bag, but is still a good start to the day (porridge pot, fruit, muffin, cereal bar) N.B. also see above - cafes are very close by should you need more.
Fantastic location - surround by steep slate hills - walking distance from the train station, Ffestiniog heritage line, and bus stop. There are 2 cafe's just across the road, an excellent 'fish and chip shop' and curry house. There are a couple of pubs. 'CellB' is tucked behind the main street, but worth the find - its a FABULOUS and friendly community venue, amongst other things, it hosts live music nights. We were treated to an amazing reggae band, which was very well attended, and by a lovely crowd of people. Long may it continue. N.B. check opening hours - its currently open a few days a week.

United KingdomIt was quiet dirty, there were food stains on the headboard, there was no restaurant or food, the location didn’t offer much in the way of restaurants or facilities.
The room size was big, good to fit all four in a room and not on top of each other.

United KingdomNothing we didn't like .... but a bedside light would have been handy.
The manager at check-in was welcoming, helpful and was prepared to go 'above & beyond' in terms of our unusual requirements. As the hotel didn't have a chef, we were offered a selection of breakfast packages which seemed to cover most needs. We were also advised about places to eat for dinner, things to do and the simple and reasonable house rules.

United KingdomThe property overall is dated and needs some love. The bathroom in the room we had was okay but there was clearly damp in the walls and the paint coming off. The pictures of the rooms are old.
Stunning location, surrounded by the slate hills. The staff were very accommodating considering we arrived very late (2am). The beds were comfortable enough and the pillows were great. The room was massive, there were four of use sharing and plenty of space. Didn't hear any noise from outside and the room temp was perfect. Went to a cafe across the road for breakfast on the Sunday morning and it was brill, really nice place and good food.

United KingdomThe parking could have been annoying if the machine or the parking attendants checked as £11 is steep. The Hotel is a little dated inside and our bathroom door didnt shut properly but it didnt bother us too much. I could imagine that this was and could be with some TLC and absolute gem.
I stayed here with my son so that we could go to Zipworld the next morning. The location was brilliant, Zipworld is a few minutes drive away, there are plenty of convenience shops and takeaway options but we chose to sit in at the local curry house. We then had a few drinks in the Hotel bar which is dated but has a well used pool table, lots of locals and noise in the bar which will not be for everyones liking but we enjoyed it. Locals were friendly and music lively, everything was off by 11.30 which enabled a good nights sleep (the beers helped). Room was spacious with a cracking view and everything clean enough. We had breakfast in the morning which was good value for the price paid, £7.95 for a good sized Full Welsh Breakfast including tea. Limited parking but a car park at the back with a broken pay machine came to our rescue, £11 per night if working. It depends on the group you are with, expectations and duration as to this hotell being for you but we would both stay here again.

Sweet kind staff! They were happy to assist with WiFi and bus times, and apologetic that the kitchen was closed as was most everything else in the town(it was a Monday).

United KingdomNow, where do I start? It's a ship without a captain. Feels more like a local saloon than a hotel. Only place where upon your arrival you find earplugs in your room. The whole building begs for renovation and I'm not even talking about all the footprints on the wall. Room was very acceptable for a 2 night stay, apart from low pressure shower and lack of chairs/stools in the room. It feels like the staff is left to handle the whole hotel and bar without any support. Hats down to all staff. The noise wasn't as loud as expected, didn't need to use earplugs. Advice: read TripAdvisor about this place before booking it. Stay at your own risk
It's a great location in the heart of town. Close to train station, bus stop an local shops and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff.
