Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

It would be nice to have a few notes in a guest book with answers to common questions. For example, a tip that if the hot water runs out, a new batch will be ready in about 30+ minutes. This would remove small uncertainties and make the stay even more relaxed.
We stayed in this studio for one night, extending our holiday by an extra day. The place had everything we needed for a comfortable stay: a cozy bed and an additional sleeping option, everything for making tea, and a small kitchen to prepare simple meals. The studio felt very comfortable, and the hosts were welcoming, responsive, and always available. The patio and garden around is absolutely lovely, green and calm place.

Was expecting the kitchen facilities to be a little better - the fridge space was limited and there wasn't anywhere to wash up however the hosts did come to take and deal with anything that needed washing up. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.
Hosts met us upon arrival to hand over the keys and were generally very attentive, presenting us with a box of eggs from the onsite chickens, advising us of good local places to eat and attractions and were available for an additional queries we had. Accommodation was on the small side but was very clean and tidy and it was clear a lot had gone in to make a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Would book again.

The studio was perfect for what we needed a one night stay on our way to Cornwall.. Very clean. Very comfortable bed. Little extras much appreciated especially the fresh eggs from the chickens.

The hosts, Karen, John, and Sam, were amazing! The apartment was well maintained, clean, and comfy. They took care of every little detail. We loved our stay and will come back again!! 10/10 100% recommended!!

Could not get the shower to work but luckily there is a shower head on the taps on the bath tub, so no a big issue.

Need to be alert pulling out on to the main road but the hosts were happy to help if you're a nervous driver
Privacy was great as you have your own front door and the studio was comfortable and had facilities to prepare your own food if you wanted. Bath and shower were clean and well equipped and the bed and sofa bed were comfortable. Hosts very welcoming and had thought of everything, even leaving croissants in case you hadn't brought your own breakfast. As cat lovers we enjoyed interaction with the onsite kitties, but they would be no bother for anyone that doesn't like them. It was a really nice stay, with use of the garden and patio area for anyone that wants it. I really couldn't find anything to dislike and would be very happy to stay again.

Lovely spotless apartment, perfect location for our needs. Owners were very welcoming, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water in fridge available, tasty croissants supplied for breakfast. Loved our stay. Double bed and pull out sofa bed - plenty of room for 3 of us. Would definitely recommend, we will be booking again.
