This is not a spa hotel, it has a spa in the grounds that you are required to pay £35 pp extra for.This is a first for me, I like a spa so often choose somewhere with one but this is the first time I've been asked to pay extra. We also dined in the restaurant and witnessed a scene suitable for a Fawlty towers episode where people were unknowingly sat in the dog friendly area so when other patrons arrived with dogs all hell let loose, everyone was complaining and the staff just made things worse with their handling of it with management hiding out the back and sending a very young girl to deal with very irate customers. Didn't spoil our stay but the customer service was not great.

We would definitely stay again, it's a very nice hotel and very convenient for family. The room was of an excellent standard and had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good.

Tired. Bedroom and unsuite need make over. We had coffee after our evening meal in the library. Awful place but nowhere else for 8 of us to sit. It needs locking up until fully revamped.

Location suited and convenient. Car parking plentiful and easy and nice grounds.

Restaurant was very expensive for the food on offer and the possible public lounge areas seemed to all be meeting rooms or bars where there was no one to serve you.

Food and drink not always as hot as as they should have been. Restaurant staff asked only once over 6 meals whether everything was alright. Receptionist never wished us a good day, asked about the day we had had or seemed to want to engage with us. Our final bill included food and drinks we had not had.

Confused questions & requests for payment eg in dining room, for dinner & breakfast already paid for at Reception, on arrival. Confusing comms about upgrade offers Nowhere obvious or convenient near the bar for relaxed drinks, in the afternoon - l9ng walk to lounge. Worst of all...07.30 lorry reversing alarm, and engines etc reversing down to kitchen area on a SATURDAY morning. Very disruptive & antisocial. Not good for a hotel of this type & quality.

Noise at nighttime and the location of the room. The room was situated near a communal room which caused excess noise it was also advertised as having a garden view. Unfortunately it was over looking a car park. It was advertised with a 4 poster bed and roll too bath which it didn’t have. The toilet seat lid kept falling on your back.

Clean and comfortable. Food was exceptional and the waiting staff couldn’t do enough for you.

We had an issue with the room we were originally allocated, as the plumbing was not working. It was also cold, and a little run down. Having said that, the staff were very helpful and got us an alternative room for the 2nd night of our stay, which was much better.

Liked the restaurant, which had excellent food. Staff were very helpful when we had an issue with our room.

We had a room with a door between our room and the one next door (this isn't advertised) we could here the next doors TV excessively loud and also any other business they were doing, which was annoying and spoiled the whole night to be honest

The building and facilities are great and restaurants and bar were perfect for the evening.

The restaurant was a big let down waiting over 30 minutes for drinks then still no service had to go and ask for wine bar staff awful they never looked up and at least said we be with you shortly they just ignored us as we stood there .. I think the place was very understaffed that wknd which was a shame as it did spoil my sisters 60th birthday present

We had a room on the ground floor and were very unfortunately woken up at 7.00 AM by an extended truck delivery on the other side of our window. The shower was lukewarm. No tea and kettle in the room, or water.

The bedroom was tired it wasn’t clean the jacuzzi bath didn’t work the blind in the bedroom was torn and the curtains were hanging off also the hotel was not busy but the food and drink service was very slow taking over an hour to get a sandwich at lunch so we lost spa time

The treatments in the spa were really good and the staff were fabulous The food once you got it was nice but very overpriced
