Arranging taxis to and from the wedding we were attending was a little challenging as we needed to use an Eastbourne based taxi company as there are none that routinely serve the village. The exact location details of the cottage vary slightly on the Booking.com site which was slightly confusing. Please don't let either of those things put you off though....it did not make our weekend any less enjoyable!

Such a lovely little cottage which was very clean and comfortable. We were attending a wedding locally so it was well situated. The village itself had a small array of pubs and shops. We visited The Singing Kettle for breakfast, which we would recommend! The village shop is right in front of the property, and we enjoyed the deli counter with their warm homemade sausage rolls for lunch!

Exceptional experience! Amazing location, stones throw from shops,carpark,pubs,South Downs. Extremely peaceful, sparkling clean, well equipped, beautifully decorated cottage. Great night's sleep, great shower, super cosy. Honestly cannot fault it. Will definitely be back again.

The parking permit was not in the location provided in the instructions: it was hiding behind a waste instruction card in a wicker basket on the coat rack just behind the front door; not on top of a bowl in the living room. I never got a proper response on where to find the car parking card…..

Only problem we had was tap in kitchen fired water everywhere when I turned it on as water pressure so strong, so we had to screw up the nut at base of the tap. Happened last time we stayed here too. Otherwise everything is lovely. Not a complaint, just so it’s known by the owners.

Information on the proximity of the parking was misleading, for a person with mobility problems, the walk to the car park difficult. The property is excellent, but there has to be more clarity on the distance from cottage to car park.

I would like clearer guidance on where to park. There was no very close parking and the 3 hour restricted park made no mention of residents parking. The shower needs attention and water leaks from the bottom of the doos. There is a gap between the plastic seal and the outside. The shower was good and I am only concerned for the owner's property

We found it difficult to find the property as the address given on the message from the host was missing part of the address and had the wrong house number. Also the information for the car park permit was only referred to in the video, there was no information in the property .

The property was very hard to find. Our taxi driver who knew the area well could not find it. Locals could not help either. Had to contact the owner. A description of the exact location is needed, ie 'behind the shop, set back from the High Street'.

Being sent the wrong address, the video showing a wrong front door and not being able to get hold of the host at checkin time (or even after we eventually found it by ignoring the house number Sent to us). You could have easily helped with this by giving directions from any of the key attractions in the centre

The only downside is there is not always a mobile signal but that is a small minus when weighed up against all the positive aspects of the cottage itself and village location.

Located in the heart of Alfriston, next to the village store. Beautifully converted one-bedroom cottage with all modern conveniences, whilst retaining its unique charm. The owner thoughtfully leaves her homemade chocolates as a welcome gift.
