Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere are lots of stairs and uneven floors that could be a problem for some people. There is no specific parking but very close by there is parking which offers 24hr parking with RingGo app at £9.50 a day (up to 7 days available).
Friendly Staff at check in, food/drink serving and around the site. Ideal location. Food was great for evening meal (including kids menu) and the breakfast. All very fresh and good quality. Child & dog friendly restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. Adequate room for a night with good, clean en-suite. Quiet and comfortable.

United KingdomHotel allows to many non guests on site to the point where you can’t even get a seat in bar for a drink as it is filled with drunk locals!! You don’t know which member is staff to speak with as reception always closed and the hotels feels separate from everything else. The hotel is quite run down and makes no attempts to feel welcoming. Just not great at all. Ilfracombe is very run down and in desperate need of investment. Woolacomb and Combe Martin are far nicer locations and don’t make you feel as though you need to look over your shoulder. Very few places to eat and the area really does not use its harbour location very well at all. Should be bustling with fish restaurant’s offering local catch but just isn’t.
Location was good next to harbour

United KingdomA memory foam topper on top of the quite firm mattress, on the beautiful bed, would have made for a much more comfortable night's sleep.
Beautiful room with brilliant views. Great location. Staff were great and even went out to buy gluten free bread. Lovely breakfast. The real fire in a huge log burner in the bar on a freezing cold day was a real treat

United KingdomNoisy! Whoever was in the room upstairs was stamping around and dragging furniture at 4am on our first night. The second night was just as bad, banging through the ceiling enough to make the chandelier rattle! It was a shame as the location and view was great. We appreciate it's a listed building but there is no sound proofing at all.
Location and harbour view was awesome

United KingdomThe hotel permits dogs, which is great for some, but there was a dog barking during the evening.
The staff were welcoming and professional - they kindly upgraded me to a room with a sea view, at no extra cost. Breakfast was basic but tasty and prepared with care. Very convenient location - I'd certainly stay here again.

United KingdomIt is a bit tired and needs more attention to detail when it comes to the things like dusty skirting boards, a very old and rusty toilet brush and the lamp was peeling/falling apart. It just needs a bit of love and maybe a spruce up 😊
