The twin beds were different heights and mix matched headboards.

Perfect location on the sea front. A very grand hotel in its day. Our bedrooms were very big. There was a fridge in the room which we weren’t expecting.

Liked very much my suite 203. The view and light is fantastic. The bed sits comfortably in the bedroom, indeed the bed was very comfortable. BUT the adjoining room has no idea what it is offering or should be offering. The sofa iis tiny and drab, not exactly a comfortable spread out for the watching of the television placed the other side of the room. One would rather be cosily in bed watching a TV fixed to the corner wall of the bedroom. The point of the adjoining room should be addressed. What does it offer. What should it offer. A work space. A large attractive sofa bed. A larger table in the window fir eating. Shame the windows can’t be cleaned, beautiful light unfortunately highlights the dirtiness but i don’t see how they can be cleaned as gone are the days when window cleaners stood on a window ledge! All said i very much look forward to returning 7/8 June for my daughter’s wedding in Hastings.

Fried egg was like rubber. Tomatoes raw. Bacon another sheet of rubber.

    The mattresses are very soft.

The character of the hotel is exactly what I love and expected to see, it exceeded my expectations, furniture is period as expected, but a I was very happy with how clean the hotel was

The rooms do require some modernisation - especially the squeaky floors and outdated windows which provide very little soundproofing against the outside traffic. No parking at the hotel.

Beautiful location right next to the beach with an unusual interior design. Breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of dishes on offer. Staff are attentive and helpful. There are a lot of highly rated restaurants very close by for delicious evening meals.

I found it difficult to adjust the shower - water was too hot.

I didn't need breakfast as visiting family but the sea view from the restaurant would be lovely! Reassuring to have pleasant & helpful staff at reception - so often lacking in many places these days. Spacious room, comfy bed, warm duvet.

Room was cold but plenty of heating available to switch on and was warm within an hour, would have been nice to have the room warm when we arrived but no biggie

everything - although the room is dated it was massive, could do with an upgrade as a little tired but it was clean and comfortable. Would happily stay again. Breakfast was good value and veggie sausage on request was available

We are coffee drinkers so having stronger coffee at breakfast would be good, maybe an espresso machine or offering cafetieres.

Huge family room with sea views and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The decor is slightly tired but clean and all of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast had options for the whole family. The maintenance guy helped us work the tele and the reception and dinner staff were very friendly.

Curtains in our lounge area needed attention and one was hanging down. Owing to the height of the window it wasn't something we could fix and although we mentioned it on our first night it wasn't taken care of. This meant we couldn't draw the curtains in that room, but on the whole it was a great stay.

A Grand hotel of a bygone age. Very majestic , although looking a little tired and some redecorating needed in places A lovely clean suite with great sea views. Quiet and relaxing with everything we needed for a few days break at an affordable price. The food was very good , staff very friendly and attentive.

Don't expect a 21st Century boutique hotel experience. At the price we paid, it would unreasonable to be critical of the imperfections.

This is an old-style grand hotel in maybe the best seafront location in the Hastings and St Leonards area. There are huge public rooms and bedroom spaces, wonderful views of the sea and good food.
