Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere were some weird water gurgling noises that kept my wife awake at night, sounded like a cistern or water tank stop cock problem. We did tell reception but it wasn't sorted.
Very large room for the price. Very comfortable bed and good breakfast menu.

United KingdomI don't want to say or comment here. My wife had a lovely stay, thank you Sedlescombe. I just thought of this. We tried to walk to Carr Taylors vineyard. TAKE WELLINGTONS.
There was ample food for Breakfast and the room was clean and tidy. The accommodation was a short walk (100 meters)from the club house. We went out into Hastings for dinner to the PUMP HOUSE which I loved. On our return we came back with wine and the club house was happy to give us an ice bucket and glasses so we retreated to our room. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe only thing I could find fault with was that our room was a bit cold and the heating didn't seem to reach very well into the room. Nothing else at all.
We stayed in a King room and it was beautiful - and HUGE! The Juliet balcony and French windows that opened out onto the golf course was a real treat and the bed was incredibly comfy too. The bathroom was huge and immaculate, and although it had a bath rather than a shower (which I hadn't realised) it filled very quickly. All of the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast was delicious.

United KingdomOnly minor stuff - carpet has seen better days, and a more modern TV that allowed access to Netflix etc would have been a bonus.
Welcoming, accommodating and friendly staff. Nice size family room with bath and double sink. Tasty breakfast with decent amount of choice.

United KingdomWhilst the room and bedsheets were clean, we were both aware of a less-than-pleasant smell, probably from the duvet itself, albeit inside a clean cover.
Large comfortable room, good breakfast at the golf club, ideally located for us.

United KingdomIt’s quite and the surrounding area is very well kept. The hotel is set back from the club house, and the rooms are spacious with a large en-suite. The breakfast is great value for money and freshly prepared.
Such a lovely setting, very close to Hastings.

Very comfortable king sized bed although if you are short you may need a ladder to get on it! Large room and en suite with nice complimentary smellies. Lovely view of the golf course. Nice and quiet. Very easy booking in and out.

United KingdomCan’t think of anything!
Cleanliness, very helpful staff and the room was large and spotlessly clean. Plenty of cupboards and drawers, and a big squishy sofa. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had huge fluffy towels, plenty of hot water, shampoo, etc and Sam was really helpful with information about the hotel. The whole place was spotless, and they had not skimped on anything, a spare blanket, plenty of tea and coffee, the heating was excellent and felt very cosy when we arrived. The price was amazing, really good value compared with other places closer to Rye and Winchelsea. We try to balance facilities, appearance and cost and this was great value with more than we expected in the standard of facilities in the room and able to park just a few steps from the entrance.

United KingdomNothing came up while I was there.
Clean, neat and tidy room, with everything you need right there. Breakfast was excellent, and service friendly and helpful. The location is far enough out of town to make night time dark and silent, but only a few minutes drive to get supplies.

United KingdomMy husband forgot to say we needed disabled he had trouble with the stairs always seemed as though in the evening lift was out of service but when I pushed button the housekeepers trolley and stuff was in there I don’t think lift was out of order which made getting up stairs very hard for my husband as he is quite unwell but partly our fault for not saying we needed ground floor other than this everything else was great
We didn’t try breakfast maybe next time

United KingdomThe drive up to the golf hotel did not have lighting so if someone was arriving on foot at night that might be a concern for them but given that we came by car all was well. Some of the taps in the bathroom were a little difficult for someone with arthritic hands to open and shut. The water pressure was quite low, making using the showerhead quite difficult. Plenty of hot water for baths though. The cooked breakfast on the first day was beautiful with good portion, sizes. On the second day, it was all a little bit overcooked and much larger quantities, too. The bacon was very salty and left us thirsty throughout each day.
It was a lovely location. Very peaceful and easy to find. Plenty of parking was available very close to the hotel itself. The hotel bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was lovely and there was air-conditioning available in the room. The bathroom was spacious and clean too with double basins. A nice long bath with plenty of hot water and toiletries provided. Breakfast was peaceful and plentiful in the clubhouse. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and the pastries were delicious. There were plenty of options for a cooked breakfast to choose from. The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful - enabling a late check-in when our journey South had taken longer than expected. We were staying to visit family nearby and would use this hotel again.
