Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe room was a little run-down. While overall clean (especially the bathroom), certain things needed care, for example the carpet very old and stained, the AC unit had a broken piece of plastic and the tap was loose.
The location was very good. Excellent value for money, staff was also friendly.

United KingdomCouple of snags in the room nothing major the shower head was held up by tape supporting the actual screw fixture that is suppose to hold the head in place which looked a little shabby. The shower control knob came off in my hand but easily went back on. The carpet in the room was quite dirty in places. The AC units looked like they had been around the block a few times. Nothing that actually impacted our stay though.
Overall a nice place. Location close to tube station. Few minutes walk. Staff were professional. Place was clean bar a few bits. Nice building. The room had two floors with a double bed on both floors and felt quite spacious. Bathroom was nice overall.

United KingdomDidn't get to stay in the apartment that was in the photos that I booked off of. This seemed much smaller and I wouldn't have paid as much for it. Rubbish and maintenance equipment down the sides of the suite. Floors inside were very dirty, needed sweeping and cleaning, I saw ants in both bedrooms and the bathroom.
Well located, very little noise, it was a pleasant stay for my friend and I. Facilities were minimal but adequate.

NetherlandsWe could sometimes hear sounds from other rooms, but not too loud to be uncomfortable. The room was freshly painted which the staff informed, so it had a bit of new paint smell in the beginning.
The room was spacious and clean. It seemed new. Hotel Staff were very helpful. Not too far from the metro station.

United StatesThe rooms and hotel felt very unpersonal and grey, but it fits the purpose of a convenient hotel. Some of the windows, because they were old were drafty. Overall good stay for the price.
The transportation access is great - with buses and train easily accessible to downtown. An uber from Kings Station wasn't expensive either. There are cute accessible areas that are walkable as well, but nothing touristy. Overall worth the stay for a cheap convenient place to sleep.
