How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Our room had been updated but the rest of the hotel does need updating.
The staff were great, the room was lovely we had been upgraded. The food was excellent.

Pool dirty, tiles grubby and concrete from the floor in the pool. The hotel was in need of decorating everywhere, bathroom door did not close properly. There was no soap in our room. We had drinks in the bar area at 2pm when we arrived. At 10pm the glasses and teapot were still on the table we had Sat at! My dinner arrived with half the items missing off the plate. We did eventually get the the other items but would have been nice to get my meal all at once as described

Shame the outdoor pool wasn't open - we'll be back when it is!
Friendly reception staff. Generous, quality cooked breakfast. Good sized room - we were upgraded - thank you :) Great location for Corfe Castle & coastal walks. Snooker room was fun. Spacious bar area, with nice seating & tables. Large carpark close to entrance.

Bed was small when used to a king sized bed! Found it hard to get comfy. (our issue, not the hotels!) Bags of used linen left at the foot of the stairs. Still there the following day and we felt it should be kept out of sight. Walking area around the pool was extremely slippery. Just a bit tired and dated once you had got past the reception.
Lovely large pool. A bit on the cool side but we soon got used to it. Good changing facilities and towels and lockers provided. Good central location Friendly staff. Lovely pond and garden area.

Dirty glasses were left on tables in the bar area as bar staff too busy chatting. We moved glasses from a table so we could sit at a table and the glasses were all still there the next morning.

The WiFi/Internet speed was poor. The room was good but signs of wear'n'tear beginning to appear.

The cleanliness of the whole hotel really let's it down. It has the potential to be an amazing hotel and an excellent venue for weddings. But the cleanliness is terrible especially around the pool and sauna area where the floor was filthy, covered in grass and mud. And the sides of the pool were black around the steps. The bedrooms really need updating too. It was like sleeping in your Grannys bedroom!
The staff were really friendly. The location is great. The grounds are beautiful and there is a beautiful pond just before reception. Around the back is an outside pool and seating area which is lovely.

The pool is a great size but it seems like the wrong tiles or grout has been used? It makes your feet muddy if you walk round with no sliders. Why on earth would it not be swept daily there was piles of it around the edges. Also the showers in the changing rooms are tired and the door doesn’t fit properly so people can see in! We kept our towels and changed in our room. Our room was lovely and clean apart from cobwebs all around the ceiling and window? Not sure why these haven’t been hoovered up.
We loved having the pool facilities, the hotel was a nice mixture of new and older decor, the grounds are pretty.

Living in America I am used to hotels with Air Conditioning. On a warm August evening having AC would have made the night much more pleasant.

Restaurant food was not good. Got charged for 3 breakfasts even though we didn't have any, not heard back yet about this dispute. One breakfast I was charged for was before we were even there! Tennis court covered in moss.

The responsibility of a 'proper' key could be removed. Card key entry would be ideal.
