Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Room was a little small but sufficient for a night but good price.
Very good recent refurbishment. lovely cooked breakfast. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Easy access to city centre. Would definitely use again if coming this way. Exceptional value.

Breakfast cooked to order, much better than some hotel's buffet breakfast. Free parking. Located close to the city with a bus stop right outside if you dont want to walk in. Single room's bed was quite large and comfortable.

Cleaner started hoovering before we had finished eating! If breakfast is served between 7 and 9am, we are entitled to come in at 8.45am and not be made to feel that we are in the way!

When we first arrived the reception staff could have been more welcoming this is our first time staying at St Andrews they told us nothing about the place found the staff not very friendly at all even at breakfast. Also the hot water in the bathroom is very hot there should be warning signs above the sink staying caution beware very hot water also towel options were not given regarding clean towels how do you indicate that you want them apart from having to ask for them never saw cleaners as we were always out when they came and very rare that we saw anyone on reception even when we checked out.
Breakfast was ok could have had Porridge on the menu and could have been offered more tea or coffee and toast.

The breakfast wasn’t as good as the last time we stayed so not sure if they have changed the chief, the sausage and bacon were overdone for my liking and the beans were cold, depending on who served you depended on how much toast you got and how big the glass of fruit juice was.
The hotel is excellent, it’s very comfortable, clean and warm.

Room not a generous size. Fall hazard on single step on first floor prior to landing on top of staircase. Very cosy shower cubicle. No soap tray in shower.
Very well presented hotel. Really great breakfast with several options. Excellent waitresses - polite, attentive, efficient. Free on-site parking. Close to city centre- we walked up. Lounge area with comfortable sofas. Much cheaper rate then on Saturday.

Nothing really. The website should say it’s only 10 minutes walk to the quayside and restaurants. Town is about 15.
The cooked vegetarian breakfast was a little bland and just warm. A little more care would change everything.

Quite frankly, nothing.
There's much to like about St. Andrews Hotel starting with the FREE parking and the proximity to Exeter City Centre with it only taking just over 15 minutes to walk in. The hotel itself is very untypical of an independent city hotel in that it is clearly well maintained and in no way looks tired as many do nowadays.

The room was incredibly hot and opening the window didn't help much.
The location and parking was good. The room was also very clean and the bed was so comfortable.
