Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No kitchen - there is a kettle and microwave in the living room but they obviously want you to pay for the breakfast in the bar.. You have to go to the bar (it's a pub) to ask for things like forks, plates, cups. They say it's because people 'steal' them but I'm sure that happens in all hostels - I reckon they just want to make it less convenient to use your own food while still being able to advertise that they have a 'kitchen'.
Travellers to meet Location is great - you just leave the hostel and you're on Camden High St.

The stairs

During breakfast, all seven television screens were on, but the speakers were blasting some crappy Club House. Luckily, I had my ear plugs with me, so I didn have to listen to the same beat drone on for half an hour.
This was my third stay here, and the first time the bed had curtains, which is preferable in a privacy kind of way. Okay, one might say, if you value privacy so much, why do you book a bed in a dormitory? Valid point, but still. Also, this room had actual lockers, instead of the lockable cages underneath the beds.

This was my second time staying there. Different room, different floor. This room was right above the pub, which is noisy. I can pretty much sleep through anything, but if you are a light sleeper, I can imagine it might keep you awake.
Excellent location. If Camden is where you need to be, I dare you to find a better place, as you are dead smack in the middle of Camden High Street. Continental breakfast (or, as we continentals call it, breakfast) was good.

The shower was in the sleeping quarter and I didn’t like disturbing the other people in the room. No biggie.

The rooms appeared crowded due to the number of bunk beds and people, as the rooms aren't very spacious. However, this is economically understandable."
St Christopher's Inn in Camden boasts a central location with easy access to essential facilities. The rooms are neatly arranged, and the friendly and accommodating staff contribute to making the hostel a great place to spend the night.

No kitchen - there's a kettle and microwave in the TV room. Showers are not too comfy - one shower in the dorm room of 12, and there's no window or place to put your clothes, so you basically have to come out damp and change in the room. Lack of kitchen is a little annoying - the hostel is above a pub and I think they want you to get your food and drinks there. But, on the other hand, you're in Camden, so there are late night takeaways everywhere and a choice of supermarkets so you can get a selection of microwave food..
24 hour access, good location. Friendly guests you can hang out with.

At the moment we entered we noticed that it was a hostel right inside of a pub/club. Basically.. it was difficult to sleep till 1:30 aprox.

Room wasn't the best, would advise against staying in 10 person room. Not very comfy.
The bar area is extremely social and staff are pretty friendly.

The biggest issue was that the rooms just were not clean. The trash was taken out and the bathroom got cleaned everyday, but the shower smelled bad and I think there was mold in the bathroom as well. There was hair and stains on the bedsheets and linens when I arrived. I asked if I could get new bedding, which the staff was really nice and helpful about(!), but the new bedding also had stains. I’m sure they were washed, but it didn’t feel like you were in a clean room.
The Inn has a fun pub and a pretty good “hanging out” space. The staff is super nice and helpful. I felt safe in this hostel, the security is good (you get keycards to access the room and the hostel).

The bar under is noisy, lights are automatic so there are often on during the night, shower is small and aggressive. There is no real kitchen, just microwave.
The location is perfect, there is a bar under and a lot of food shop in the street. The reception is open 24/24 and there is a breakfast. Others people were nice and events are planned for the evenings.

Toilets often blocked No shower curtain in one of the two cubicles on my floor.
Easy to get to good transport links… Beds very comfortable. Very reasonably priced.

No privacy curtains. The ladies in the room were not thoughtful, especially in the morning. Lots of street noise (lots of sirens) coming in. I slept so poorly that towards the end of the trip I was a zombie. The staff is not the friendliest, except for housekeeping, they were nice. Not sure why early check in is not done at this hostel...
The bed was quite okay. The room size too (6 bed female dorm). The water pressure in the shower was good. The room was cleanish. The lockers under the bed were spacious. The location is quite good, definitely go check out Camden market. There is a bar downstairs if you want to go for a drink. Good connection to west end.
