The bed was a little too small for both of us. Everything else is ok.

Thin walls, other guests arriving late at night or being noisy, and door was loud each time it was opened and shut. Not the fault of the owners, but may occur during a visit given the nature of the accomodation. You get what you pay for, which is good value but doesn't offer the best of nights sleep.

Convenient place to stay before a flight, comfortable enough for the price paid.

Not much hot water, this didn't affect the shower, but I washed my face in cold water, I left the shaving till I was home. Not really a problem, but others might find this bad.

I am one of those difficult customers, I stayed 4 nights while covering night shift at the airport, the owner put me in a better room that I wouldn't be disturbed in, this was much appreciated and turned out better than I hoped for, the area was quiet, not far from the airport but not affected by the noise from the aircraft, I slept soundly and was much better at my job because of it.

The cleaning wasn't the best. I haven't had tea or coffee in my room cause the kettle was beyond dirty.

Candy was the best one! She is so sweet and warm, I really loved how she made me feel at home.

Very easy to find with onsite, off-road parking. Key code sent several days before. Good communication and easy to arrange a late check-in. Local shops close by.

Transport from Stansted airport to hotel costs almost as much as the room. The local bus doesn't run after 6 pm or on Sundays and when it does run is erratic, infrequent and unreliable. Airport taxis are 26.50 pounds for a four mile ride and you can't walk because there is no sidewalk/pavement/footpath along the narrow road.

The shower was awful. 2 tiny streams & either boiling hot or cold temperature. The lodge is very noisy ie couple next door talked all night, could hear everything. And people outside smoking and talking loudly all night

The only issue with this place, both times, has been the very thin walls. It's wise to bring ear plugs! The first time we were downstairs, and for some reason it seemed like the only other people in the place were directly above us having a party. 😂 This time I was upstairs, but it seemed the only other guest was a lady that was put immediately next door to me! However by the morning there were a number of vehicles parked in front, so the place was actually more populated. In any case, it's very clear that Candy does what she can to communicate this and remind people to be respectful of noise levels. Truly, if ever you have an issue with the noise, blame the rude guests, not the owner. Sometimes we just get a bad roll.

This was my second stay at the Stansted Lodge. Candy, who owns & runs the place, is an excellent communicator and clearly cares greatly about her guest house and the experience there. Everything is as described -- nothing overly fancy, but clean, logical, you have what you need, the self check-in/out is so, so convenient, and the cost is incredibly reasonable. The location is excellent (this time I caught the morning train to get to the airport, last time we needed a 3am taxi), and both times I have visited the nearby Tesco express for some dinner items and a few things for breakfast (vegan and gluten-free... Not an enormous selection, but there's enough). This time I noted the nearby pub had a number of GF options, but was too tired to check it out!

I would have liked the flexibility to change to a downstairs room, as I had neglected to request one at the time of booking. However, the restrictions from Booking didn't allow for any last minute room changes.

The only thing I would mention which would make the hotel better would be some sort of wardrobe or a small shelves or something on the entrance. As currently there is nowhere to unpack your clothes into/onto.

The hotel was very good quality for the price-very clean throughout , the shower was amazing-very powerful and relaxing. The room size was good, and the check in process very smooth-love the decor of the rooms and the key hooks. The room has a kettle and some biscuits and a small tv. The temperature was nice and warm on arrival. Bed was super comfortable. Very good location and surprisingly very quiet. I managed to get a very good nights rest. Also love the phonebox outside ❤️

Just looks a little tired, but not enough to impact on anything.

Location to the airport. Ease of check-in and check-out. Availability of hot drinks in the room and the kitchen. Communication from owner. Cleanliness. Ease and availability of parking.

Clean and comfortable room just an easy 10 minute drive from the airport, which is ideal for early morning departures. My room had a shower and kettle but there was also a shared kitchen with cooking facilities and fridge if needed, and a supermarket and fish and chip shop around the corner. Communication from Candy was clear and quick. I would definitely stay here again if I need to be at the airport early in the morning. Thanks Candy!

Mattresses were really uncomfortable, there was a bit of mold in the bedroom wall, bathroom smelled a bit weird
