View from room (229) not very good. Pricey for what it was.

Leisure pool looked nice although we didn’t use it. Bed was comfortable. For & drink prices reasonable.

I could not give it a negative response as the staff and the facilities were fine.

The room was fine, although we were at the end of of the corridor and our outlook from the window was at the end of the rest of the hotel. The room was tidy and clean, the bathroom was excellent with plenty of towels and toiletries. The breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced.

Rooms need upgraded. Service needs to be quicker for dinner but overall we had a great time.

We stayed here on a dinner bed and breakfast package in February. The hotel was grand and impressive looking on our arrival and we parked in the forecourt in one of the many spaces available. We arrived bang on 3pm and there was no wait at reception. Parking is free and you have to put your car registration into a tablet at reception to avoid charges. We booked our dinner for 6.30pm and then headed to our room. The room (205) was the floor above reception with staircase was spacious, nicely decorated, clean and tidy with a cute overlooking the forecourt and equipped with plenty of tea and coffee. There was an ironing board and iron, hairdryer and toiletries. The rooms were a bit tired but still clean and comfy. We unpacked and went exploring round Stirling. As we left we saw a huge queue at reception which we had managed to avoid. Amazing vistas in Stirling and a good range of shops. Dinner was included and was excellent; terrine for starter and slow cooked beef for mains with a couple of sides for hours measure. The food was delicious and good portions too. The staff were spot on. We slept ok, the person sleeping above us was particularly noisy, I think they were repeatedly trying to recreate the EastEnders closing theme tune. We were down early for breakfast the next morning which was a comprehensive cooked and continental buffet breakfast all well prepared and absolutely delicious. We were seated for about 8am and it started to get very busy about 9. Overall a very enjoyable stay and thanks to all the staff for their efforts. No hesitation in recommending the hotel and will definitely be back. ***Update 08/04/2024*** We returned to the hotel and were happy to see the hotel is still as good as before. There had been refurbishments in the public areas. I also used the gym which had a good selection of machines which were well maintained.

Mould in the bathroom and ill-fitting windows whilst a storm was blowing. However, it is an old, adapted property with style and elegance, nicely furnished and carpeted. So on the whole it is a comfortable, characterful, charming place to stay.

Excellent staff; nice room, well-appointed and comfortable; meals lovely. Superb location, Good parking.

The pool was busy, which wasn't ideal considering the size of it and under 2 year old in the jacuzzi and other kids around 7 with goggles on trying to swim in it. Only saw 1 staff member in this area in the time of over an hour so went unnoticed and parents didn't seem to care. Not as relaxing as I was hoping

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly. Room was good size, small box of chocs for my girls birthday was a nice touch

The meal we ordered from your Scholars restaurant was very poor. I ordered the more expensive steak on the menu. Made it perfectly clear to the waiter how I wanted it cooked. It came back severely overdone and was not a choice cut of meat. The results were it was grisly. I asked the hostess for some steak sauce to make it at lease palatable. She rudely informed us they didn’t have steak sauce. I asked her if we could have some of the the whisky sauce that came with the haggis appetizer and was told “ I’ll have to charge you extra”. Also, there was an issue with the salad. It was described as coming with a truffle infused salad dressing. It arrived without any salad dressing. When we asked for the salad dressing we were bright just regular olive oil. Needless to say I was noticing this and not fooled at all at this point. Instead of giving your establishment a very poor review, I sent an email to your web page complaining mostly about the hostess and waitstaff and/or chef. The receptionists were very helpful and courteous and promised to forward all of it to management. I told her the next morning when we’re checking out that we would consider trying your hotel out again on the dates referenced above. She told me that she should hear back from her management team in 10-14 days. I’m still waiting to hear back from you

I really like the location. I’m thinking about booking another stay here on the final two night of my vacation, 18/04/24 and 27/04/25.

The bathroom could have done with an update. The shower was very old and we actually had to call maintenance to help us turn it on. Then once on, it was difficult to turn off. The side lights over the bed didn't work.

Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful building, and close to the castle. Nice breakfast with hot and cold options that were replenished regularly.

There was a service charge of 15% automatically added to our dinner bill. You did have the option to remove it but it would have been embarrassing. I would have preferred to know before hand that this would happen as we had pre paid the Dinner option on the Booking which was food to the value of £54.00.

Fabulous location and historic building. Good car park. Staff very friendly and let us keep our bikes in our room. The breakfast was very good too. We enjoyed walking out of the hotel up to the Castle great views.
