We came back from town after the first day, only to find out we have been locked out of our room. I went to the reception to enquire and was told they thought we were staying for one night. My question is, we left for town after 1 pm that day. Surely the staff saw us leaving without our luggage. Surely, if we had checked out, they would know.

£5 charge to park car overnight.. The exrerior appearance of hotel and car park are not very welcoming. I arrived after dark and couldn't easily identify which set of steps led to the reception.

I was apprehensive from the previous reviews and was not expecting much. I was however, very pleasantly surprised. My room was spotless. It was newly decorated and had a new carpet. All the staff were lovely. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

A stay over required because of threatened train strikes. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed, large tv and large bath! All the staff were very helpful@

Bar only had bottled drinks, no draft beer. Menu was fairly limited in the evenings. Fact that I had to pay for car parking was the biggest issue for me.

Having to pay extra to park in the hotel carpark. As a paying guest I wouldn't expect to pay to park in the hotel's own car park.

The charge for parking. The cold selection at breakfast could of been better for the price paid. The room was a little dated, as was the bathroom too, but this wasn’t much of an issue really as the rate was very good and I had a comfortable stay.

The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. It was a good rate for the room. The bed was very comfortable. Gluten free options available at breakfast.

Helpful staff, clean and modern. Parking was at an additional cost, which wasn't explained on the site. If you pay cash, you have to pay an additional £50 deposit. This again wasn't explained before booking.

The rooms didn’t have any drawer space in them, which isn’t a problem if you are only there for a day or two. There was also no literature about evening meals at the bar or restaurant and only a poster about breakfast. As a result we eat out for all our meals.

On entering the hotel, everything looked very clean and tidy. The staff were at the reception desk and booked us in promptly. They asked me if I had come by car and informed me about the parking charge so that I wouldn’t incur a penalty ticket.

Leaking toilet which I reported and faulty shower head.

The room was spacious bed comfortable. Though the shower head was broken so had Baths no problems, and the toilet was leaking when flushed. Very friendly staff. The fire alarm went off first evening there. We looked out the room door could see a man way up the corridor, he never looked at us. We were situated next to a fire exit door so left by that door. Walked round to front of hotel in the pouring rain and no one else there. Waited a few mins the alarm stopped so walked back round and back through the same door and into our room. No update as to what happened no one came No other dramas to report. Have stayed here before and would again.
