The rooms were comfortable but also creatively designed with some great attention to detail. Often even boutique hotels cut corners with the actual standard of fitments such as baths but Swaine House really does provide quality as well as style! Breakfast was great, Jason helpful and friendly and I liked having real coffee provided in my room instead of short cut instant!!

There was some late night noise from the pub opposite but this, of course, isn't anything the B&B can control but bring earplugs if you're staying over the weekend and have trouble getting to sleep with noise.

Great B&B. Very clean and comfortable. Easy parking nearby in Pay & Display car park. Breakfast was nice.

I only wish I had stayed for longer

Very welcoming and helpful staff, wonderful decor, the cleanest hotel I've personally ever stayed in. Convenience store a 30 second walk from the front door, and the sea front only a further 2 minutes away, an excellent place to stay for a weekend getaway!

    Nothing at all.

The service, cleaniness, timeliness of the facility was impeccable. The owners took extreme care of every detail and their meticulous and incredible renovation of an old antique shop is quite breathtaking.

The room was quite hot. But we just opened a window and then it was fine.

The place was beautiful and smelt amazing, from the front door all the way to our room. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated/kitted out. Hosts were perfect combination of helpful and friendly without being too in your face. Breakfast was great, really well cooked. We had a rare night off (2 young kids) so we just wanted somewhere quiet to go and sleep. It was so so perfect, I slept like a log for a solid 8 hours, for the first time in ages!

The only thing that was a slight disappointment was the noise from outside due to being on the main street through Watchet - but then you really cannot hold Swain House accountable for that.

The room was very tastefully decorated and was very clean. The hosts were very pleasant and the breakfast was cooked to perfection.

Our room was at the front so a bit noisy, but then we live in the countryside so aren’t used to any noise at night.

Lovely comfortable spacious room with good facilities and attention to detail.

A fantastic boutique B&B in the heart of a charming harbour town

The room was absolutely fantastic. Jason met us at the entrance and gave us a brief introduction to Swain House before giving us the option whether we wanted him to show us to our room or not (due to COVID preferences). Jason was a fountain of local knowledge and explained to us where in the area was open/closed for dinner & drinks and his recommendations for the places that were open. The room was immaculate and clean. Bathroom amenities were great and there were also two Stroopwafel's waiting for us in the room which was a really nice touch. Watchet itself is a small but charming place and Swain House fully does it justice with the atmosphere and vibe. Would definitely recommend the award-winning Pebbles Tavern if you're looking to sample a few gins and Ciders too! Breakfast was also very nice with meat and vegetarian options on the menu as well as a selection of hot drinks. We were told that it was usually a buffet setup but the B&B's reaction to COVID guidelines meant they decided to serve plated dishes from the kitchen instead which was fine by us and we felt comfortable at all times during our stay. We would fully recommend Swain House to anybody looking to visit the area and would certainly return ourselves.

The TV is small (if you want to watch it, we didn't); the front rooms overlook a narrow street, there was some street noise (single glazed windows, probably a listed building) and the residential buildings opposite looked directly into the bathroom and bedroom - possibly some privacy glass could help.

Breakfast was great - good options available the night before and delivered safely to the door. The hotel is small, boutique, lovely rooms, very clean and has adapted well to Covid situation. Very helpful communication in advance (make sure you check your email) and knowledgable staff.

Noise from DJ on Saturday night; not much the B&B can do about it but I wouldn't stay here Saturday again.

Communal table for breakfast, worked ok. Very clean place. Lovely little town. High quality revamp of the place, well done but not to my taste. Best shower in the world!
